Nicki watched as they pulled up to the house she hadn't been to in a long time. It didn't quite hold the same emotion since the last time she was there, especially since they had left each other on such a hurtful note.
She took a deep breath as her driver opened her door for her. She picked up the brown envelope addressed to him and got out of the car. Her heels clicked against the cobbled path that lead up to the stairs in front of the door. With each step she took her heartbeat a little heavier against her chest.
At last she stood in front of the big door and placed three solid knocks. She waited for what felt like a lifetime before the door finally opened, revealing his maid.
"Ms. Nicki, how are you?" she asked as she stepped aside allowing Nicki inside.
"I'm very well Maria, how are you?" Nicki asked with a warm smile.
"I'm good, I'm good. Mr. Graham is in his office," she said and Nicki just nodded.
She spent a few seconds contemplating if she should just pass on the paperwork before deciding that it would be best to just face him for the few seconds that would ensure that the paperwork reached him, regardless of his decision.
She walked the short distance to his office, each step feeling heavier than the last. She took a deep breath before she finally placed three solid knocks on the door. She listened out for his voice on the other side, and once she heard it, let herself in. She was met by four pairs of eyes on her, but only made contact with the one set she was here to see.
"Sorry to interrupt, I just came to drop this off." She walked a little further into the office and placed the envelope on the desk in front of him. He watched her with a neutral expression as she walked towards the door.
"You not even gonna wait for me to open it?" He asked her causing her to slowly come to a stop as she reached the door.
"I don't think that'll be necessary, besides I've got places to be," She said without turning to face him but was quickly met with another question.
"Where are you going?" he asked and she sighed as she thought of how she would respond.
"Nowhere important," and with that she let herself out of his office and headed back to her car to start her journey to her doctor's appointment...
"What do you think it says?" Chubbs asked as he watched Drake, who just looked at the envelope but made no effort to open it.
"I dunno, but she didn't seem too keen to see my reaction and in my opinion that's very telling," He said and they agreed with him. Nonetheless, he picked up the envelope and opened it.
He skipped the first page of writing, already knowing his answers were on the back. And after skimming through the various numbers on the page, his eyes landed on the one that mattered: 'Probability of Paternity: 99.9998%'. He let out a slight chuckle before he placed both documents on his desk.
"What does it say?" Oliver asked the question they all wanted the answer to.
"Baby's mine." he looked up at them all as they looked back at him. Chubbs gave him a smirk that he couldn't help but laugh at.
"Hey, I'm just happy I didn't open a can of worms for no reason, besides this is what you always wanted right?" he said with a shrug and drake had to give him that one.
"True, just not like this..."
-
Drake rung the doorbell allowing it to echo around the inside of the house whilst he waited for the door to be answered. It took a little while but she finally appeared at the door with a pen in her hand and her hair in a top knot bun - a clear indication to him that she was working.
