"You excited to go to London Toby," Nicki asked her daughter as she lay on the changing table looking eagerly back at her. "Your daddy said he wants to spend time with us so as always we get to go on a trip," she said as she helped her pull on the small ovo jumper. She chuckled as she watched her daughter fall back into the soothing rhythm of her pacifier. "You're growing so fast Toby, sometimes I can't believe it's only been 6 months." She ran her hand over her daughter's curls and took a moment to just admire her before she was drawn out of her thoughts by a knock on the door. "Sounds like our ride is here," she said, finally picking her up and heading over to the door where she answered it and found one of his bodyguards standing there.
"Miss Maraj," He greeted with a small smile.
"I told you to call me Nicki," she said, returning the small smile and opening the door a little wider.
"This all of them?" He asked of the two suitcases that were already by the door along with the baby bag and her handbag.
"That's all of them," she affirmed. "I can take that one," she said as she reached for the baby bag, but he was quick to stop her.
"I got it, you know how he gets. You don't lift a finger," he said and she playfully rolled her eyes and picked up the birkin instead.
"Does he have a carseat for her?" she asked and Tony nodded.
"Car seat is in the car waiting. The travel cot and swing should be on the plane by the time we get there. He got the monitor too," he explained and she gave a small smile. He did listen when she needed him too and she found it sweet, but she expected nothing less, especially when it came to their daughter.
She waited for Tony to get all of their bags in the car and once he was done she locked the doors behind herself and carried her daughter down to the car that was waiting for them...
Arriving at the airport, they swiftly made their way through security and were soon walking along the short corridor that would take them to their flight. She could feel the butterflies building the moment she knew that corridor was the only thing separating them. This was the longest they'd spent apart since she'd had the baby, and he'd pinned it down to his busy schedule, but she still didn't know what to expect. She was never usually this anxious, but she felt this was her last chance to really stand her ground or else this would be it for them, she would always be the other woman.
Arriving at the door, she greeted the flight attendants with a small smile, and walked a little further in only to bump into Chubbs.
"How you doing Nic?" He asked as they shared a half hug, careful not to disturb October who was very quickly falling asleep in the carrier that her mother had her in.
"I'm good thank you, long time no see. How are you? how's my nephew?" she asked and he chuckled.
"I'm good and he's alright, growing too quickly that's all," he said and she agreed with him as they walked a little further in allowing her to greet the others who were also busy trying to get settled and ready for take off.
He was nowhere to be found and she pinned it down to him doing something else. She didn't mind though, it gave her a few minutes to collect herself and prepare for take off.
She was busy watching as Tony secured the carseat on one of the seats when she felt his presence. And just like she expected, he was behind her by the time she turned around. He gave her a small smile and reached for her hand. "Hey," he said softly, before leaning in to kiss her and she didn't hesitate to give him her cheek instead. "Wow," he said with a chuckle and she just moved away slightly, returning her attention to Tony who was just about done.
