Taehyung was lying in bed...it was a few days since he had visited his wife's grave...he hadn't wanted to go...if anything he wanted to curl up in bed that day and hide from the world, they had planned to be away on holiday for her birthday, but that was cancelled after the funeral. He still couldn't believe his beloved wife was gone, he missed her terribly, as did their daughter. It was thanks to her that he was functioning, if she hadn't been around, he probably would have joined China long ago.
"Pappy?" A little voice interrupted his morbid thoughts.
"I'm awake sweetie." He patted the bed and the little girl jumped up and snuggled into his armpit.
"Pappy..."
"Yes."
"I miss mammy." She sniffed, and Taehyung felt a warm tear fall onto his side.
"I know sweetie, me too." He hugged her close as she cried.
"Pappy, please don't leave me like mammy did."
He wondered when she would cry for her mother, she had been very quiet since she left them. He had wondered if she felt her loss at all. He rubbed her back as she clung to him. They lay there for a long while until Tae looked down and saw she was asleep, the young girl had cried herself to sleep.
Gently removing himself from her grip, he went for a shower and to brush his teeth, he gulped when he saw China's toothbrush next to his own....he still hadn't had the courage to throw it away yet. With shaking hands he picked it up and dropped it into the waste paper basket under the sink....he had to carry on with his life, for Taechi's sake.
He was due back at work after extended leave the next day, he didn't want to leave his daughter but Namjoon had persuaded him it was for the best...he really had helped him a lot in the early days after.... Well after it happened.
His thoughts trailed to the day at her grave and the man they both met...he seemed friendly and after he had given his daughter the orchid, Taehyung realised he was a genuine person, he also couldn't shake the feeling he had when they shook hands, and when he touched his arm, he felt a shock...like electricity...What was that?
Shaking his head of the thought, he finished brushing his teeth, then went to choose his suit for work the next day.
"Mister, can you help me."
"Doctor, my head hurts."
"Ow, that hurts, be gentler, quack."
All day he had rude and ignorant people barking orders at him, 'do this, do that'. He wondered why he wanted to get into this field in the first place, then he remembered. He looked up at the ceiling and sighed.
'Sorry mom, I'll do better' he mumbled under his breath.
He was currently on overtime, had been working for 15 hours straight, he was tired, dog-tired. He just wanted to go home and sleep for a year.
"Doctor, I feel sick" a voice interrupted him.
'That's why you're in a hospital idiot.'
He thought to himself, but plastering on a smile, he turned to the patient and asked her the usual doctor questions. He couldn't wait to get out of here and crash in his bed, he looked at his watch, only 5 hours to go...he groaned and busied himself with work. A voice suddenly came over the tannoy.
"Emergency patient incoming...all doctors prepare, emergency patient incoming."
Jungkook sighed and groaned and made his way to the emergency department. He was waiting with his colleague's for the ambulance to arrive. He asked what they were facing to his long-time friend Ji Hong.
