Chapter Seventeen

Later that day both men were up and milling around downstairs, Taehyung was cooking in the kitchen, and Jungkook was sorting through the wedding details...They had had to make a few changes due to recent people that had come into their lives, they wanted everyone to share in their happiness.

Taehyung walked into the living area carrying two plates of pancakes and placed one down on the table beside Jungkook and held onto his own.

"How's it going?"

"Good...I think we have everyone...except I don't see your parents anywhere?" He looked up at Taehyung.

"That's because they can't come." Taehyung replied biting into his pancake.

Jungkook looked at him, silently asking for an explanation. Taehyung took another bite of his pancake.

"They are both passed, my mom died in childbirth and my dad passed when I was five." He explained. Jungkook's heart dropped.

"I'm sorry babe." Jungkook said placing a hand on his arm.

"I'm ok, I never really knew them, I do have some memories of my dad though, I miss him, but my Grandma raised me until she passed when I was nineteen. That one hurt the most." Tae said staring into space momentarily. "She would have loved you." He said smiling at Jungkook.

"My mom passed too." He said a feeling of sadness flowing over him. It was Tae's turn to stroke his arm.

"You must miss her?"

"I do, it was four years ago, she was my rock, but she was fragile and too loyal for her own good. My father used to beat her, and one night he went too far, she ended up in hospital, and later died from her injuries."

Tae' gasped, what his baby must have gone through at a young age. A tear escaped Jungkook's eye and Tae wiped it tenderly. He turned his face to him and kissed his eyes.

"We will set a place of honour for her at our wedding. She deserves to see you get married." Tae said smiling, Jungkook melted, how had he gotten so lucky.

"Thank you Tae, my mom was the reason I wanted to become a doctor, it was her last wish for me, and I just hope I can fulfil her wish."

"You can and you will, I will help you, once you are fully recovered you can return and get your doctorate. I support you."

Jungkook leant into Tae and hugged him close to him, then he released him and looked down at the numerous lists on the table.

"Ok we have our guest list, have a look, is there anyone else you want adding?"

Tae took another bite of his pancake, motioning for Jungkook to do the same with his and picked the lists up, scanning them. Jungkook tucked in while his man looked over them.

"We haven't got Jin from next door on here?"

"Yes we have...here." Jungkook said, going through the papers and picking one up from the table, handing it to Tae'.

"Oh good, he's got to come seeing as he helped save my life." Tae grinned.

"Most definitely." Jungkook agreed.

"So new additions, Min Yoongi, Ji-Hong and his wife, then we have Jimin, Hoseok, Namjoon...hey have you noticed Namjoon is spending a lot of time next door lately?" Tae asked Jungkook.

"I have, I think something is going on with those two."

"I like Jin, he seems like a decent dude, I just hope he treats Joonie well." Tae said smiling at Jungkook.
