Calm before the storm

It was 3 am where we called Coran into the lab. He observed Pidge's leg, in which she said the boiling and pain had stopped. " It's yellow!" He pointed out. "Thanks for pointing out the obvious," I smirked. "This substance has been found in the suits... It must be an aura." He said seriously. "Aura?" Allura asked. "A substance only taught to be a legend or myth. They say it's only found within the lion's minds, similar to the energy that created the land, Valhalla. According to the legends, those who have the power of the aura has an immense amount of power. Too much for even a human to hold, explaining why it burnt Pidge's leg." Coran explained. "Aura? First, we need to deal with these elemental lion powers and now aura!" Keith complained impatiently. "I'm afraid so," Coran replied. I knew we didn't have a choice. We were going to need to go to space as soon as we can. Wed might have to battle worse creatures than the shapeshifter. None of us knew where these creatures were and what they wanted. We knew we were playing Russian roulette with fate if we'd agree to do on the mission. We'd need to travel space to find Allura's father, the previous paladins and their families, destroy all aura before it goes too far and finds the black lion, all without forming Voltron. It was a suicide mission, but we knew we had no choice.
Pidge walked, limping, towards a small box under a cabinet near the shuttle Allura was found in. It was dusty and old. She opened the heavy lid and layer it on the ground effortless. Inside were the new suits. Similar to the old suits but sharper. It had a white vest with sharp shoulder pads and collars up, and the Voltron logo, printed on is chest plate in the paladin's color. It had futuristic holograms around the ankle and wrist, in case of blackouts, so we can find each other. Pidge had made one for all of us, including Allura. Although Allura couldn't fly the blue lion, so she planned to fly the shuttle following us with Coran. The shuttle held space for 5 people, so in case of an emergency, we can all just tag along on the shuttle.

1 day later, we found ourselves at Pidge's apartment. It was the day before we'd be leaving the planet. We had a complex plan. First, all of us would go to "Ixlash", the planet where Keith found Shiro's dead body. That would be our headquarters, or where we'd meet if something happens. Next, Keith and Pidge would find the black lion, with help from their lions while Hunk and I would go to Valhalla's tear to find Alfor and the previous paladin and their families. We found ourselves laying around Pidge's apartment when Allura came in the front door. "What are you doing here? You should be training tomorrow!" She demanded. "Train? For what?" Hunk asked, eating some crisps.
"You are going back to space, you might fight against other creatures!"
"Like the shapeshifter" Pidge added lazily.
"Like the shapeshifter!" Allura continued.
"Look pri- Allura. As far as I'm concerned, the shapeshifter is dead, we have powers and all we are gonna do is stay in our lions and look for Alfor and the black lion. It's no big deal really." Keith said.
"Big deal? It's a huge deal!" Allura said. I was laying on the couch, and instead of listening to what she was nagging about, I noticed her loose baggy clothes. They were maroon and magenta, and had tares on it. It made it looked like the trip back to Earth wasn't so smooth. All of a sudden, everyone was leaving the apartment, I just followed, assuming we were going back to the Mexican dinner. I whispered go Hunk's ear, "Where are we going?" I looked at him. He looked worried. "To space." He replied. "Space!?" I shouted without catching everybody else's attention. "I taught the mission was tomorrow!" I started. "Allura said we were wasting time, so she wanted to go now." Pidge said, joining the conversation. We arrived at the lab. As we walked into the empty lobby, Barb-less, we took a breath, worried we wouldn't be able to come back home. Keith didn't look worried, as he had been in space much longer than most of he had. "Hey, go into the meeting office, I'll follow. pidge said, taking a step back. All of us entered the meeting office, which was down the hall. Before I was able to step in, I overheard Pidge on the phone and listened.
"Hey Matt? I'm leaving Earth... I know, I know but she wanted to do it today...No don't, we're leaving now, it'll be too late when you arrive. Matt I'm sorry."
She dropped the phone and walked across the hall, glancing at me. She gave me the same look she gave after I saved her. At this point, I started feeling some weird sensation whoever she gave me the look. It wasn't like the judgmental look she gave me back at Garrisons, or the friendly look she gave me when we were serving Voltron 5 years ago. It felt weird at first. We both entered the meeting room and sat down next to each other. That was when I realized Pidge was able to say goodbye to Matt... I couldn't. I missed my family so much, but I couldn't dwell on the thought then.
Allura was inpatient. She was stomping around the room, yelling and growling for no reason. It must've been hard for her to work so hard to find her father, and then lose him so soon... Okay, maybe not that soon... It was more than 5 years in Valhalla time so I wasn't sure. "Allura what's wrong?" Coran finally asked. "We aren't prepared! But we don't ha e time." She answered. "Allura we're fine," Keith added. "No but- It's just" she stuttered.
"I'm not prepared. I worked so hard to find my father and now I lost him. What if I find him again to loose once more. I can't go to another mission and- and lead it without Shiro." Allura said nervously. It must have been difficult. There was so much pressure on her, the thought of it gave me shivers down my spine. But she shouldn't have felt worried. She had Coran and us to help her. "Allura, your not alone. You have us! You have Coran! You have Matt, supporting you from Earth!" Hunk said, comforting Allura. "Your right." She said, calming down. "Let's go." She sighed. "Now?" Hunk asked.

"Now."
