Easter was upon us! I boiled the eggs and James watched what I was doing, when they were done, he paid special attention when I cracked one and saw a perfectly cooked yolk in the middle.

"Wow! I can never get them looking like that! What's you're secret?" He asked with surprise.

"I have my grandma's recipe for this and the cook time written down and the wait time for them!" I proudly said.

"So, what would you like, some decorative eggs or some deviled eggs?" I asked.

"Both!" He said as he watched me with the eggs.

"OK. For decorative ones, we just get out food coloring and some custard cups full of water. Then we dip our boiled eggs in the colored water." I demonstrated a few eggs for him.

"What if you want some swirly mixed colored ones?" He asked.

"Umm... you can put many colors in a cup full of water and then swirl the egg around." I said. Soon James was doing just that and he managed to get some beautiful looking eggs. I watched on as he made some decorative eggs.

"How do the eggs look?" He asked as he looked up at me. I just had to smile.

"They look wonderful!" I exclaimed. I took some pictures of them to show to Sam. He will get a kick out of these.

"I hope you don't mind me sending some of these photos to Sam?" I asked as I showed James some of his decorative Easter Eggs.

"Wow, I can't believe these turned out so great! I guess I have a talent for this!" James said as he saw the photos on my phone. "You can send him this one and a few others. We don't want to overdo it for him on the Easter eggs." He continued.

"Sure thing! I won't send them all." I reassured him.

"Hey, when are you picking up the cake?" He asked, reminding me of that.

"Uh, I'm going to get it after we're done with the eggs which I think will be soon." I said to him. "Do you want to go with me?" I asked.

"No thanks, I think I'll stay here or go out on my own." James answered as he continued with the eggs.

"OK. Is there anything you need at the grocery while I'm there?" I asked. I'm also getting his favorite cinnamon rolls while I'm out.

"I don't think so. Oh, wait, some beer would be great." He suggested to me.

"I'm adding that to my list!" I said as I multitasked in the kitchen and saw what James did to the eggs.

"How can I write on the eggs?" He asked with a childlike interest.

"Oh, I have a permanent marker you can use!" I said and looked for my kitchen one. When I found it, I handed it to James and he took off the cap. Before I knew it, he wrote C & B on one and C & J on another one before dipping them in the colored water. Out they came with our initials covered in purple or blue and green colors. He also did the heart shape and put that one in the red, it came out more pink.

"That one is for valentine's day. Another holiday we almost forgot!" James said. As I recall that was about the time, he suffered from his PTSD incident. Oh boy, we're behind on another holiday! We tried to celebrate the ones we missed while in Wakanda. Now I know what he intends to do on Easter Sunday! My bad! I need to get him a belated Valentine's gift. I wonder what you can get someone, especially your husband for a belated Valentine's. Flowers is too cliched because it's Easter. I know he doesn't wear jewelry; he likes very manly things and a lot of what I like. I'm in uncharted territory because this would have been our first Valentine's as a married couple. I have to come up with something. I think I need help from my cousin Paul or my best friend, Karen! I think she'll be more helpful on this one. I'll have to call her later. Now I'm thinking of baseball or basketball game tickets and movie passes. I'll see what she says too. James did some more eggs until he decided he had enough.
