Chapter 10

After our very rousing afternoon sex, we were in a better mood and were looking forward to seeing Scott. We actually went outside and took down all the decorations except for the banner. I can see why we need a third person! Someone placed it high on the posts of the patio/balcony. Very close to the balcony on the second floor! We guessed it was probably Sam. We were almost done and Lady was running around the backyard. She likes running around a lot. We kept tossing her a ball which she always returned. When we were done with the decorations, this time Lady came back with a different object than her somewhat tattered baseball.

"What's this, Lady?" I asked as she dropped the object in my hand. I had to show James what she found.

"It looks like something Thor or his brother Loki forgot." James said and laughed. We looked at it. The object was blue and somewhat round and kind of square, more of a cube.

"Maybe Scott or Nick Fury knows what this is." I said as I touched it. I felt some kind of energy surging from the item. Next thing I know a sense of a very strong energy landed in our yard.

"That's mine!" A loud voice boomed at us as we looked around and saw Loki made his appearance and landed in our yard.

"Is this yours?" James asked Loki.

"Yes, it is. I accidentally dropped it when I came yesterday. Sorry about that!" He said and effortlessly lifted it out of my hand.

"I must have left it here when Thor wanted me to leave right away." Loki explained. We looked at him in awe. He was wearing some futuristic outfit and it didn't look like something from a Star Wars movie.

"Oh, if you're looking at my outfit. I'm currently on a movie set for some futuristic movie for the twenty-second century." He said trying to explain why he's wearing that outfit.

"What is that for anyway?" I asked indicating the blue object now shining at us. Loki just smiled.

"That is my transporter to get around while time-jumping. I really need to be in the 1970's and I need this to get to where I'm supposed to be." Loki explained to us. Lady ran up to Loki and sniffed him. Immediately she barked at him and then stopped while sitting in front of him staring at the cube.

"Looks like your dog knows who I am!" Loki mischievously said with a smirk. He bent down and petted Lady.

"Nice to meet you too." He congenially said to Lady. She barked again and then stopped. Loki swept his blue object around and touched Lady's head with it. The energy from it emitted something into Lady and that made her more obedient. We were wondering about the blue shining object in Loki's hands.

"What is that blue thing anyway?" James asked Loki.

"If you must know is the Tesseract. It holds some special powers that only respond to me. It's much bigger than its current size. I believe your friend, Steve or Captain America have seen it." Loki described. "May I?" Loki asked. The two of us backed away from Loki and then he held the cube with both hands and lifted it up. We were amazed that he got it to release some of its powers and shone brightly.

"Well, I must go. If I stay here then I'll screw up the time continuum and probably ruin something that should happen!" Loki carefully said.

"By the way, yesterday was a lovely party. I'm sorry for ruining it, I needed to see Nick Fury. As for my brother, Thor, there's no question that he would follow." He apologized.

"You didn't really crash our party. Actually, we thought the two of you were a part of the great party we had!" I said to Loki. "Also, it was our anniversary party." I added as I waved my arm to the banner hanging.
