After my nap on Thanksgiving, I learned from James that Sam and Michelle want to have a baby. James wanted to share that with me. He's very good at keeping secrets but he wanted me to know.

"Oh, wow! That's means we'll have a playmate for our son!" I exclaimed in excitement.

"Yeah, they want to wait about a year to do that or sometime after they get married next year." He explained.

"Well, that's good!" I laughed.

"I just had to tell you. He was going to mention something at the baby shower but you know what happened there!" James said.

"Yeah. That was something else!" I said.

A few days after Thanksgiving, we decorated the house for Christmas. We did our usual Christmas decorating while James wanted to add some baby Christmas decorations. My doctor was confident that it was going to be born mid-month. I could feel it and kind of knew the way the baby moved in my stomach, making me very uncomfortable at times. While I was experiencing some discomfort and pain, we were preparing for Christmas festivities. We're not having a party for our "family" because Sam is going to Michelle's family for the holiday and Scott and Hope are celebrating it with his daughter in the San Francisco area. Outside of Sam and Scott, we really didn't want others like Paul and his family and Karen and her family. We've reached that nesting phase, we reached that before Thanksgiving. Now we just want to keep it in this in a nice bubble, just the two of us with a dog while waiting for the baby to be born. We had ideas on names but I think we really just want one. We had our doctor's appointment about a week before Christmas. We hope we can hold on until then. Also we took many naps.

"Ah... I could get used to this! Sleeping with you during the day!" James said one afternoon while we laid on the bed. I felt beached like a whale on the bed.

"Mmm... same here too! I want you to know that I've read we may want to sleep whenever the baby takes a nap so we're not so sleep deprived." I warned him.

"How about at night and when he screams or cries?" James asked, sounding concerned.

"We'll deal with when it happens." I said. "I know we don't like interruptions with our sleep but we can sacrifice our beauty sleep some for about a year. I hope he's not a fussy baby and keeps us up all night!" I continued.

"I was thinking the same thing." James said. "Do you remember what you were like about that age?" He asked while twirling and playing with my hair.

"Uh... I don't remember being that young but my mom told me I was a good sleeper and very observant of my surroundings and very vocal. She also said I didn't like changes very much to my daily routine. Oh, and that I pointed a lot when I was a baby. She said I was curious too." I told James.

"I bet you were very curious about things and loved getting into trouble!" He laughed.

"I'm sure I was!" I laughed back. "Do you have any early memories? You probably do not." I asked him.

"Mmm... I was curious too. My dad used to say that one day I'm going to get trouble for that. He also said I was an athlete from the start. My mom said the same thing. I think that's all I remember." James said as he traced his fingers along my arm.

"So, then our son will probably be very curious, thirst for life and an active baby!" I said as I thought what our son is going to be growing up.

"Yeah!! Something like me, I guess." He laughed as we took a nap one afternoon.

"Oh, yes! I wish I knew you when you were younger. Oh..." I said and then a shooting pain went through my stomach.

"You would probably hit me or swat me in the head for being ornery!" He joked.
