You were running as fast as your legs could carry you. The woods surrounding you were dense and only grew thicker and darker the more you ran. A more specific detail, they were apple trees.

Branches and thorns slapped and cut your face while a deep, maniacal laughter rang out behind you. You were being pelted with apples that slowed you down with every strike. You couldn't keep this up much longer.

There was no escape from what was coming for you.

What was coming for you anyway? You stopped and slowly turned around. You heard crashing and saw long black tentacles snaking their way through the trees, reaching out to capture you.

You began running again. Maybe if you found a town you would be safe! Your paws beat against the ground at a steady pace. You heart beat even faster. The pads on the bottom of your feet were bleeding from all the thorns and rocks below you.

Finally, red lights shimmered before you. You reached out for them, bursting through the tree line.

Almost there...

And then they caught you. The tentacles dragged you back into the woods, and inky darkness smothering your mind. You cried out for anyone to help you until you finally heard something.

"(Y/n)-" a voice came, faint and distant. It was blurry, drowned out by the sound of static.

You screamed and thrashed about in feeble attempts to escape the darkness.

"(Y/n)!" The voice came louder.

Suddenly, you felt something grasp you by your shoulders and shake you out of the tentacles and back into consciousness.

"(Y/n)," it was Alastor. "Are you okay?"

You panted as you sat upright, looking around your room. Your door was no longer on it's hinges and was lying on the floor with Charlie, Husk, and Vaggie in the doorway. Tears streamed down your cheeks while you tried to shake off the terrifying nightmare you had just experienced.

"I'm- I'm fine, Al," you shuddered. Alastor wrapped his arms around your waist and you put yours around his neck.

"I'm okay," you cried into his shoulder. He didn't mind the wetness. He didn't mind anything as long as his you were safe.

"(Y/n)," Vaggie asked from the door way. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"What?" You sniffled and nuzzled your head into the crook of Alastor's warm neck. His warmth was quite relaxing. You were safe now.

"You were screaming in your sleep," Husk said gently. He walked over and sat on the edge of your bed.

"It was just a nightmare," you told them, pulling away from Alastor. Everyone looked at you with concern.

"Do you need anything?" Charlie asked.

"Can I have some water?" You requested. Charlie nodded and she and Vaggie walked away.

"(Y/n), you can always tell us if something is wrong," Husk purred. You sniffled again and leaned against Alastor.

Just then you remembered a specific detail of the trees in the forest.

"Lucifer," you muttered to yourself.

"What was that, dear?" Alastor asked.

Is this because I didn't accept his offer? You asked yourself in your mind. You'd need to tell someone.

"Lucifer," you said louder. "There were apple trees. It was Lucifer. I think he sent me the nightmare."

You clutched Alastor's hands and squeezed them. A look of pure hatred shot through Alastor's face.

"I hate that stupid bastard even more now," Husk grumbled. The cat had started acting like your dad. It was kind of sweet of him to care about you that much.

Alastor shook his head.

"What do you want me to do to him?" Alastor wrapped an arm around your back and rested his hand on your waist, moving it up and down along your curves.

You pressed your lips together before speaking. "I'm going to give him a stern talking-to and I want you to come and help," you told Alastor. "Husk, you don't need to come if you don't wan-"

"Kay, bye Honey," he walked out of your room.

Alastor looked at the floor and summoned a fire. You panicked for a second, but soon, Nifty crawled out and the flames faded away. She didn't even look burnt or singed.

"Nifty, will you fix (Y/n)'s door for her?" Alastor looked at her big, orange eye.

"Absolutely! Of course, I'll make it look wonderful! Even better than before!" She hopped up and gathered the hinges and fixed the door in less than a minute.

It did look quite splendid.

"Thank you, Nifty!" You cooed. She smiled before walking out of the room and finding something else to do.

You turned to look back at Alastor.

"What am I going to say?" You queried. You truly had no idea what you needed to tell Lucifer. He was tormenting you via your dreams just because you wouldn't live with him.

"Whatever he needs to hear, darling," Alastor cupped your cheeks in his hands. You felt your faces leaning closer together until the door opened and you both jumped. You had been so ready to kiss him and let him know you were his and he was yours. You were kind of disappointed by the interruption.

"I have your water!" Charlie walked in with a pitcher in one hand and a cup full of ice in the other.

Alastor looked vaguely annoyed.

"Thanks, Charlie," you took the cup and poured some water in it. It was cold and relaxing as it went down your throat.

"No problem, (y/n)," she gave you a thumbs up and left the room again.

"Alright Alastor, I think I'm ready to go," you sat still, looking down at your lap and fiddling with your thumbs.

Your gaze let him know you put your full trust into him. This was all he needed to know he could teleport you there instead of getting Razzle and Dazzle to do it.

Alastor wrapped an arm around you tightly and securely, and the world went pitch black.
