You were passed out on your bed with three empty bottles around you when Husk came to check on you. He looked at you sleeping figure, sighed and sat on the edge of your bed with a newspaper.

You woke up grumbling and rubbing your temples. You had a throbbing headache and felt like throwing up. When you tried to sit up, it feltten times worse.

"Not happening," you groaned sitting down. Husk looked over to you and watched your eyes slowly open and close as they adjusted to the light.

"Hey, (Y/n), want some water? A snack maybe?" He stood up and walked closer to your head.

"That would be great," you sat up again and propped yourself against the head board of your bed.

Husk went to your bathroom and came back with a jar full of tap water.

"The jar just had cottonballs. I assume you didn't need them?" He handed you the drink and you slowly sipped at it.

"Nope. No use for those," you closed your eyes as the cold water slipped down your throat, chilling your mouth and soothing your headache.

"What kind of snack do you want?" Husk leaned against the nightstand.

"Cheese and crackers. Please," you opened your eyes again and set the jar on the bedside table.

"On it. I'll be right back," Husk strolled out of your room, closing the door behind him. You waited for about five minutes before he came back up and handed you your snack.

"How'd you get into my room?" You asked him.

"I'm the person who gives people their keys. Of course I have a copy. I just used it to check in on my favorite drink resident," he rubbed your head in between your ears. You giggled at him and ate your food.

Once it was all gone, you felt a lot better and ready to move again. Husk led you back downstairs where Alastor was sitting on the couch. His head spin around, his red hair moving in synchronization.

"(Y/n), dear, you look awful," he stood up and took in your tired appearance. Your shirt was wrinkled and your fur was ruffled up.

"Yeah, I get that a lot," you told him with a small smile.

Alastor took your hands in his and swayed them side to side.

"What do you want to do (Y/n)," he leaned down until his face was level with yours. "I'm quite bored. I would just love to do something fun!"

"Well, I was wondering if we could maybe go back to your house and I could make you lunch?" You glanced over at Husk and added, "Maybe Husk could come too?"

"I wouldn't want to be third wheel, kid," Husk waved and returned to his desk.

"Well, it is 3:00, so maybe dinner?"

"Yeah, that sounds good," you looked at the floor with a shy smile tugging at your lips.

Alastor took his hands away from you and began the journey to his house.

--------------

The kitchen had everything you needed to make a chicken pot pie. Minis the chicken. Alastor's freezer had nothing but venison. You rolled your eyes and set some out in the sink to thaw while you chopped up the vegetables.

Alastor walked into the kitchen.

"Do you need any help with anything?" He drummed his fingers on the counter and leaned over to you.

"No, I've already situated myself with the layout of your kitchen. I'm fine on my own," you finished cutting your mushrooms and put them in a bowl with the broth and other vegetables.

"You're absolutely sure? I'm right in the library, reading, if you need me," he hummed. You looked at him and laughed before fitting the crust to the pan.

"Al, I've cooked a lot in my lifetime. I've lived alone for the past 12 years," you set your knife down and leaned your elbows on the counter, arching your back and looking up at the tall, red deer.

He responded with a sigh. "I'll always be here for you if you need anything," he pushed away from the counter and returned to his library.

You took the thawed venison and cut that up before adding it to the mix. You then poured it into the crust before adding the top of the pie.

You popped it in the oven, set a timer on your phone, and went to join Alastor and read a book.

You never realized how big his library was. He must really be a book worm. The shelves were so high and so long, lining each wall with ladders reaching the ceiling.

You looked around in awe until your eyes finally landed on Alastor who was currently sitting in a leather chair, focused on a book by the title of something wicked this way comes.

You sat in the chair next to Alastor and read over his shoulders. He was at the beginning when the two protagonists see a train coming to town with a full circus.

"Hello, darling, careto grab a book for yourself?" Alastor said, not looking up from the wonderful novel he was reading.

"Sure. Since I see you're reading Ray Bradbury, I suppose I will as well," you set off on a quest to find the book Fahrenheit 451, a famous one.

You found it about a minute later, thanks to it's bright red cover, and took a seat next to Alastor. You began reading even though you've already read this book a countless amount of times. It never failed to impress you.

20 minutes later, the timer on your phone went off and told you to go retrieve your pie. You went back to the kitchen and removed it from the oven, placing it on the stove top.

"Hey Al?" You softly called out to him.

"Yes, dear?" He returned.

"Dinner is ready."

You listened to the shuffle of pages as he marked his book and went to the table. You already set it and brought out the pie.

Afterone serving was on each plate, you sat down across from Alastor and tooka bite. He soon copied you.

"Mmmm, this is wonderful, (Y/n). Where did you learn to cook so well?" He picked up another fork full and ate it.

"My grandmother and I cooked together a lot. Before I killed her of course," you nonchalantly stated. Alastor didn't seem disturbed. He looked more amused.

While holding a respectful conversation, you and Alastor finished your meals and decided it was time to sleep.

"Do you want me to lead you to your room again?" Alastor asked.

"Sure," you stood up and began to grab your dish. Suddenly, Alastor jumped up and grabbed it from you.

"Bup bup bup bup bup! You cooked dinner, I'll clean up," he took both of your dishes to the kitchen and cleaned them off and put them of the rack to dry.

He smiled softly at you when he walked back out. He held out his arms for you.

"Shall we?"

"Let's shall," you giggled in response, letting Alastor lead you to your room before heading off to his own.
