You hummed the same time that you sang only moments ago as you and Alastor trekked through the woods back home. You were holding his hand and resting your head on his shoulder.

Alastor unlocked and opened his door and led you back inside. Neither of you had dinner since you weren't hungry. You both walked up the stairs and to your separate bedrooms.

"Well... Goodnight, dear," Alastor pecked your lips and speed walked to his bedroom. You could tell he still felt awkward about relationships by the way he acted.

"Night, Al," you murmured before slipping into your room, into your bed, and into slumber.

--------------

A few weeks passed which soon turned into a month. It had been a month months since you started dating Alastor and still, no one else knew. Take away Blue.

You walked into the hotel over to Husk to give him your daily greetings.

"Hey Husk. How's it going?" You leaned against the desk and looked at his fluffy face. His ears went from being flattened against his head to shooting up when you addressed him.

"Could be worse. And you?" He set down and capped the bottle he was drinking from. You shrugged.

"Cold. But it's January. Nothing I can do about that," you yoinked the bottle from in front of him and took a quick sip.

"Who do you think you are, little missy. I'll have you know I stole that!" He roared with a smile on his face. You rolled your eyes and set it back down.

"Alastor's girlfriend," the confession slipped out of your mouth without control. Your eyes went wide as your ears flattened against your head and your tail fluffed up wide.

"So THAT'S why you're always with him. I thought you were still just friends. How long has this been going on?" He grabbed your cheeks and squished them while messing with your fur.

"About a month," you said, pulling his hands away. "Why don't you have a girlfriend? You seem like and eligible bachelor," you teased. He rolled his eyes and facepalmed.

"Like I have said hundreds of times since the three months ago you arrived," he spread his wings and bobbed his head side to side. "Love is stupid and makes us all even more depressed than we already are."

He stopped moving and and put his hands on his hips.

You rolled your eyes.

"I'm not depressed. If anything, Alastor has made me super happy! I just think you haven't found the right partner," you told him. "If you find the right fit for you, you'll be a lot happier and maybe not have to cope by drinking."

Husk's eyes widened.

"Don't you dare talk shit about my drinking. It's part of who I am," he chuckled before throwing another sip into the back of his throat.

"Alright, dad," you threw your hands up and walked away to your hotel room.

A knock came at your door almost as soon as you entered. When you opened it, it was Charlie.

"Hi (y/n)," she said happily.

"Hi. What's up?" You opened your door wider so she could step inside.

"You know how you and Alastor sound beautiful in song together?" She tilted her head at you. You nodded. "Well, I just found a song I think you two should sing. It's by Pompaloose, it's 'Bust Your Kneecaps.' I was thinking you could sing it on Valentine's day."

"Yes," you said as soon as she finished talking.

"Oooooookay," she stepped out of your room and walked away.

"Alastor!" You knocked on his door desperately and stood and waited for a few seconds. He opened the door holding a small, closed, red box.

"Yes?" He sounded tired like he had just taken a long nap. His voice was scratchy.

"We are going to sing a song together. It's about a girl who's family is a Mafia. And even though it's not electro-swing or whatever you like, I think you'll think it's a good song," you pulled out your phone and started playing the song.

You watched his eyes fill with interest in your excitement and the song. Once it ended, he nodded.

"Yes, if like to sing that with you. When?" He set the box on a table near the door and leaned against the door frame.

"Valentine's day," you told him. You heard him murmur something under his breath. You couldn't make it out, but you didn't really care.

"I can make time for that," he said. You smiled widely at him and gave him a quick kiss before walking away.

Alastor, 3rd person

Alastor watched (y/n) walk away before stepping back to close his door.  Unluckily for him, a long pink arm stopped him by grabbing the door knob and opening the door wider.

"Don't try to defend yourself this time, I saw you kiss," Angel crossed both pairs of his arms and rested all his weight on one foot.

Alastor raised his hands, palms out, to his own chest.

"I'm not sure what you're accusing us of?" He asked skeptically while making a mental note to invite (y/n) into his room next time they talk.

"Oh, come on. It's obvious you two love eachother. How long has this been going on? How far have you gone?" Angel hopped up and down waiting for his answer.

"That's none of your business, Angel. You can leave now," Alastor shoved the spider out of his room, closed and locked the door, and sank to the floor.

He had no idea what Angel would tell everyone. If demons knew Alastor was in love, it could ruin his reputation! Alastor rest his face in his palms and stood up. He grabbed the box and reopened it, ready to continue working on his present for (y/n).

(Y/n), 2nd person

You sat on your bed, singing the song quietly under your breath. You couldn't wait to sing it along with Alastor. You would have to teach him the lyrics, write a harmony, and teach him both parts, but all of that was worth singing with him again. You loved the way his voice sounded with yours.

If it was for Valentine's day, it had to be the best thing you're performed.

It just had to.
