Chapter 14: Darkness in Satellite

Darkness in Satellite

Yusei was on the laptop, looking up anything that he could find about the spider mark. He was fully concentrated on looking for any clues. Tanner walks up to him and places a mug of tea by Yusei. Yanagi sits on the other table, looking over at Yusei. Xina was standing by Yusei, leaning over to look at the computer screen.

"How's it going?" Tanner asks Yusei.

Yusei responds while still typing, "Not good. My searches of spider symbols aren't turning up any solid leads."

"Only the mythological story about Arachne, but that's not even close to what we are dealing with right now," Xina tells them.

"I know you two will find a way to save the Satellite," Yanagi tells them, reassuringly.

"Count on it, Yanagi. But first, we need answers, and I know the one person who will give them to us. We need to find Goodwin," Yusei says as he stands from the computer, looking over at Yanagi.

"But you can't trust him," Yanagi states.

"Yeah, did you forget he locked you up?" Tanner says, siding with Yanagi.

"But he is the only one with answers," Yusei argued.

"Who?" Luna questions from the doorway. They all look over to see Luna and Leo walk in. Luna looked worried as she says, "You both are leaving? But it's not safe out there."

Leo sides with her as he looked concerned as well, "Please don't go."

Xina and Yusei look at the twins, feeling bad, but they both knew that something has to be done as soon as possible. "We have to. The people in the Satellite are in danger and we have to try to help them somehow," Yusei answers.

"If we don't do anything to help them, then they all will-" Xina tells them but gets interrupted by Leo.

"Then stay here. You guys will be safer in the city because who knows what's out there. What if that spider is going to destroy all of the Satellite?" Leo rambles.

"He's right. Don't leave. What if you guys get stuck and can't get back here ever again?" Luna questions, worryingly.

Yusei walks over to them and kneels down in front of them. "Don't worry. Besides I called for some back up," Yusei tells them.

Sirens started to blare as they got closer to their building. "Speaking of back up," Xina says.

Yusei, Tanner, Yanagi, the twins, and Xina walk over to the window as Yusei opens it. They see Sector Security waiting outside with their lights flashing. Then they see Officer Trudge standing next to his duel runner with a microphone in his hand.

"Looks like our ride is here," Yusei says.

"Alright Yusei, I got your message. Now you and Xina get your decks and get down here! I'm not going to wait here all day just because we are teaming up temporarily," Officer Trudge says into the microphone.

"Trudge is your protection?" Tanner questions.

"He's more," Xina says, making they all look at her.
