Chapter 33: Goodwin?

*although this is a more serious chapter, in the beginning i tried to slip in some humor because why not lol*

Previously

"We're too late. The sun is setting and the last tower hasn't been sealed," Trudge says.

Mina mentions, "At least everyone who was absorbed in those Earthbound Immortals have been returned, right?"

Suddenly, the ground started to shake, catching everyone off guard. Yusei exclaims, "What's happening? Why is the earth shaking!?"

Then they see a large, bright yellow beam shoot up towards the sky in the distance. Trudge points to it, "Look there!"

"It's coming from New Domino City!" Mina says.

The light fades as a symbol appears; almost like the Dark Signer's symbol but it was light purple.

"Another Dark Signer?" Crow questions.

"Who could it be?" Xina also questions.

"I don't know, but it looks like we are going to find out," Akiza says, looking at the symbol in the sky.

Xina thinks, I'm afraid this battle is going to be the toughest of them all.

Goodwin?

The group stares at the symbol that appeared above New Domino City. They were all astonished and confused. "What is that thing?" Akiza questions.

Xina responds while still looking at the symbol, "It almost looks like another bird."

"And those Dark Signer markings.." Yusei adds.

Then they hear a sound of duel runner coming from behind. They all look to see a white duel runner.

"Oh, look who finally decided to show up," Crow comments as he sees Jack step off of his runner.

"Great to see you too, Crow. I almost forgot how annoying your voice is," Jack joked.

"Your accent got heavier, probably from all of that tea they catered to you," Crow fired back.

"Hey! Let's focus on something that's a bit more serious than this," Leo tells them, chiming in.

Trudge speaks, "The kid is right. Right now we need to know why that symbol is there and who it is."

The ground started to shake, taking everyone off guard. Luna asks, "What's happening?"

"An earthquake?" Mina questions.

"Maybe," Yusei responds. The ground stopped shaking as they all see colorful lights shining in the night sky.

"Those lights. It looks like they are coming from the original Ener-D Reactor," Xina mentions, staring at the lights.

"Why though?" Jack questions.

Yusei responds, "The portal of the Netherworld has opened."
