Chapter 63: My Shooting Star

Yōkai smirked again before telling her, "You failed to protect the one person you care for the most by leaving him on his own with your other friend, who I have complete control over."

Xina spats, trying to contain her anger, "Because I know Yusei better than anyone and I know that he will win the duel and save Bruno from your darkness!"

Yōkai chuckled again, "Are you sure about that, Princess?" A shadow-like black mist forms beside Yōkai as there was violet and green glow within it. The mist forms into a figure of a person and soon reveals the person's identity.

Xina's eyes widen when she saw the person. She felt her blood run cold and felt a wave of shivers run down her spine out of fear and shock. She could not believe her eyes of what she was seeing. She trembles as she stares at the person, who appeared to be badly hurt. Their wrists were bound together as they were propped onto their knees beside Yōkai. Their clothes were ripped up and their body was covered in bruises and scratches. Their eyes were tightly shut and their teeth were clenched together as they were experiencing an excruciating amount of pain throughout their body. The person was breathing heavily, but whenever they breathed in, it was unbearably painful. They grunt in pain as they also attempted to hold in their cries of agony. Their eyes slowly managed to open slightly as they looked at Xina. She was able to see the pain in their eyes and how dull they appeared. She was physically in front of her worst nightmare as she stared at the person, horrified.

Xina manages to utter out with a stutter, "Y-Yusei..?" She then thinks, still not believing what she was seeing:

"Yusei... lost?..."

With Bruno and Yusei

Yusei was out of breath as his life points went down to 100. He luckily still had his Stardust Dragon on his field with one facedown. He had his hands on his knees as he was trying to regain his breath. The damage he dealt from Bruno was real, causing bruises and scratch marks to appear on his skin. Dark violet and green mist surrounded them during the duel and it seemed that the mist was causing more pain to Yusei, while Bruno's now dark colored eyes with red flares at the corners of them watched as Yusei was suffering. A sly smirk appeared on Bruno's lips, especially when he was able to reduce Stardust Dragon's attack points to zero. Bruno had a duel monster on his field that Yusei has never seen or heard of before. He assumed that this card was Yōkai's for Bruno to use. It was called Dark Affliction Hell-Hound; its eyes matched Yōkai's and Bruno's, and dark smoke misted off of its body. It is a level 8 Synchro Monster with 2800 Attack points / 2200 Defense points, however Bruno activated its special ability - when Dark Affliction Hell-Hound attacks an opponent directly, its ability activates, reducing the attack points to any monster on the opponent's field to zero. Yusei was able to save most of the life points he would of lost, which left him with only 100, but he knew it was better than nothing even though his Stardust now has zero attack points.

Yusei pants heavily as he slowly looked up at Bruno, narrowing his eyes slightly. He saw Bruno's smirk on his face, making questions fill his mind: "He's enjoying this? This is not the Bruno I know... This is not him!" Yusei then manages to speak up, asking, "B-Bruno, what happened? Why are you doing this!?"

Bruno clicks his tongue, shaking his head at the Signer, "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Still acting naïve..."

"Bruno, this is not you! I know you. You are our friend-"
