Y/N's POV

I struggled to remain standing in my bathroom as I applied makeup to hide my current state. 'I can't be sick,' I thought to myself. 'I don't want to be sick.'

My forehead glistened lightly with sweat, yet somehow I was freezing. My head ached and my throat burned, but I was determined to go to work today. If I could make it out the front door, I could make this work.

I threw my bag over my shoulder and stumbled down the stairs. I would have fallen, but someone had caught me just in time.

"Are you alright, darling?" Loki asked, concern laced across his facial features.

"Yes," I flashed a weak smile. "I'm just tired. I'm off to work." "Alright darling," Loki smiled, and pressed a kiss to my forehead. "No, you're not going anywhere." "Loki, please - " "I don't want to hear it, for you are too sick to go to work today." He picked me up bridal style and carried me upstairs to my bedroom.

"Are you wearing makeup?" He asked me.

"Yes," I groaned. Loki laid me down in my bed, removing my heels and pulling the covers over me. "I'll be right back." He left me for a moment before returning with a makeup wipe. Gently, he started to wipe away the makeup. "I can't believe you thought this would fool the god of mischief and lies," he chuckled, a smirk on his face.

"Shut up," I mumbled, smiling a little.

"There," Loki said once all of my makeup was removed. "Much better."

"See something you like?" I wriggled my eyebrows playfully.

Loki laughed. "Yes, I can see your actual face."

Instantly, I jolted out of bed and ran to my bathroom. Loki teleported behind me and held my hair while I threw up. He rubbed my back slowly with his free hand, which I found to be quite soothing.

While Loki went downstairs to fetch some ice water, soup, and medicine, I brushed my teeth a couple of times to rid my mouth of the foul taste. Loki returned with a few pills and a glass of water. I swallowed them eagerly.

After eating a little bit of soup, I curled up against Loki's cool body, breathing in his calming scent. Loki rested a hand on my forehead to help with my fever. My eyes began to get heavy, and soon enough, I heard him whisper to me, "Rest, my darling. I will be here when you wake up."
