Jace and Clary were facing Valentine in order to get him to surrender but things were not going positively. Earlier Clary discovered that her mother, Jocelyne, had lied and that her father was not a soldier who died on duty but that she was the daughter of the fearsome Valentine Morgenstern and that did not please her.

But to make matters worse, Valentine and her mother had one more child, a little older than Clary, and she only had a box with some baby shoes, some toys and a chucha and the letters JC.

- Clarissa he is your brother - Valentine said pointing to Jace.

- It can not be! Jace don't listen to him, he's my father.

"Yes, I'm your father and Jace's," Valentine said, smiling.

"No!" Said Jace softly.

- Think about it! Why do you think you two are attracted to each other? Blood calls for blood. "Valentine said as Jace had the knife at his throat and shed a tear.

The news shook the two teenagers, but Jace seemed the most shaken, not only because he had been tricked by his parents all these years but because he had fallen in love with his own sister, at least that was what he thought.

After that news, Valentine managed to escape and while Clary wanted to talk about it, Jace left. He didn't want to talk to her after what he heard. Jace roamed the streets of Brooklyn, and when he noticed, he ran into a well-known building.

He climbed the stairs and entered the building, stopped in front of the door and rang the bell. At the door appeared Simon Lewis, squinting and trying to stay awake. He was going to refill with Jace due to the hours but after seeing the state he was in front of him, forgot it and just gave him room to enter.

"I don't know if you wanna talk, but I'm here by your side, I've heard I'm a very good listener."

"I'm her brother," Jace admitted softly but Simon didn't understand what that meant. But it must be something serious because Jace Walland doesn't cry often.

- Clary is my sister!

- What?

"We were with Valentine to try to take him to the institute, but when I launched myself at him, he told me that my real name was Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern and was his and Jocelyne's son, and Clary's brother." I can't believe I fell in love with my sister!

- Jace that's horrible but you can't go down.

- How do I do this Simon? My life no longer makes sense!

"No, no. Though you actually have the same blood as Clary, Jocelyne, and Valentine, your family has been and always will be the Lightwoods." They raised you since your "parents" died and welcomed you as if you were one of them. It's like you're a real brother to both Alec and Izzie and Max. That will never change! "Simon began as Jace just stared at him." And as for your feelings for Clary, you have to take time. I will not lie to you, it is very difficult to hide and even try to finish them but they are decreasing more and more over time.

- How do you know that?

- I'm in the same boat of feelings myself! When Clary told me she was in love with you, I knew I had to give her up and I did. I do not say that I am 100% but I am getting there and I know with you if the same will happen.

"Thanks Simon, I know we're not very close, but I didn't know where to go."

- No problem, after all we are friends! You can count on me for whatever you want.

- Can I ask you something else?

"Of course," said Simon, smiling.

"Do you think I can stay here tonight?" I don't want to go to the institute!

"Of course you do, pretend this is your house," Simon said, leading Jace into the other room.

When Jace was wandering the streets and stopped in front of Simon's house, he knew it was the best choice he had made. Simon always knew what to say and how to cheer up a person, and Jace found it very interesting.

After tonight, Jace returned to the institute and spoke with Clary, deciding to forget his feelings and try a sibling relationship. They both knew it wasn't going to be easy but were willing to try. Later everyone knew the situation these two were in but no one wanted to talk about it.

The days went by, then months and finally years, and Jace and Clary's lives have changed significantly since that day and since that revelation. Jace moved into Simon's apartment, Clary had found a new boyfriend, and Alec was no longer the institute's big boss but his sister Izzie.

When they both discovered the truth, that Valentine had said that only for Jace to fulfill the purpose Valentine wanted for him, they found that it was all a lie after all and that they were not brothers but things had changed and so had feelings. Clary was happy and Jace was very happy to be with Simon. The two, after the night Jace woke up with his nightmares, they kissed and months later decided to try a relationship that runs beautifully these days.
