Alternative Dimension

POV CLARY:

Jace and I had access to some very important information from Melion that we could find Valentine by locating a portal in another dimension, but only I could access this new world. Melion warned me that while I was there I could lose my perception of things and that meant I could never go back.

"This portal will establish a connection with the other dimension," Melion said after opening the portal.

- How is the other dimension? Is it like this?

- Yes! But it is not! It is a parallel dimension where shadowhunters and demons do not exist. Down worlders are constricted to a mundane way of life to avoid detection.

- And the shadowhunters? Why don't they exist? "Jace asked this time.

- Your services have never been used since there is no war against demons. When you reach another timeline, you will take Clary's body from that world, you will feel and think just like her.
"But I'm still right?" I know I have to find the portal?

- There is a catch! There is always a catch with seelies.- said Jace looking to me and then to Melion.

- Your alternate self will consume you if you let it. You have to focus on the differences that exist between the parallel world and our world. Find something or someone that keeps your feet grounded.

"That will be easy," he said, looking at Jace and then at Melion.

"It won't be as easy as you think ... If you don't hurry, you'll be trapped in the parallel world forever."

I entered the portal and when I opened my eyes I was in my old apartment with my mother and Valentine having breakfast. I was very surprised and scared when I saw him in the same house as us but then I realized that this was a different dimension and that here he was not bad and he and my mother are still happy and together.

After I sat at the table with them, I saw an announcement from Magnus Bane and it seems I woke up and remained me and not Clary from the parallel world. I said I was going to Simon, but I actually went to Magnus's house, he was the only one who could help me find the portal. He was the one who was going to keep me sane and not get stuck in that dimension.

I left Magnus's house and went to have coffee with my friends, when I arrived at the park there was a kind of coffee stall where Jace worked and at a table outside were Alec, Izzie, Rafael and Simon.

- Hey, where were you? I sent you lots of messages but you never answered me again, I was worrying, 'said Simon.

"Get out of the sun," I said, pushing him under an umbrella but I remembered that things were different here and that he was probably human like the rest of the staff.

"Let's have some coffee. When you look at me like that, I know you need some coffee."

"Simon I don't have time to ..." I said as Simon led me to the edge of our friends.

- I love the necklace, looks good with your dress? Do not forget that arranged to prepare at my house for the birthday party that your father is organizing for the institute.- Izzie said this time.
- Party? ah .... yes of course yes ... we are super combined.

"Here's friend," Jace said as he handed over the coffees but only after landing on the hand of the person who asked them did he see that it was Simon.- Simon! I didn't know it was you babe. Wait, I'll come with you, I have a few minutes break.

"Here's the coffee," said Simon, sitting on the available stool, and Jace sat next to him, putting his arm on my best friend's shoulder.

I found it strange but I can say that I even like to see them like that. Although Jace tells me he hates Simon, I know he feels something for him and knowing that in this dimension they are together and happy makes me very happy for them.

"At six at your house, isn't it?" I asked Alec and she nodded. "Clary don't forget that you have to help me, it's my first concert since a long time and I want things to go well."

"And my love will run," Jace said to Simon, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

We chatted a little longer and then went with Izzie to her house to get ready for the institute party. As she was in the organization, she had to leave early but let me stay in her house until she had to leave to go. I just got ready and went to the party. While waiting for Magnus, I entered and Simon came quickly to me, leaving Jace sitting alone waiting for him.

"I'll ask Jace to come live with me," Simon said after pulling a box out of his coat pocket and showing a key inside.

"Oh my god, Simon, he will obviously say yes."

- Do you really think? I don't know, maybe it's a bad idea, a very bad idea. He may not want to, or not ready ...

- Simon?! - I exclaimed trying to shut him up. - He will accept, now you will go to your boyfriend and give him your gift.

- Ah Jace, I wanted to......I wanted to give you this! "Simon exclaimed giving the box to Jace who opened it and smiled.

"Is that what I think it is?" Jace asked, smiling more and more.

- Jace Lightwood, wanna go live with me?

- Of course I want! Simon would make me no happier than living with you.

POV JACE:

I was waiting for Clary to come to the portal, but she never showed up again.

"Melion has to transport me there, she may be hurt or worse."

"You shouldn't have but lost for 100 lost for 1000. You have only forty-seven minutes to find the portal and bring it back to our world."

I went through the portal and when I "woke up" and was dancing with Simon. I knew something was going on, but I felt so good where and with whom I was that I let myself be dancing with him for a few more minutes.

"Are you sure you really want to live with me?" I know that our relationship has advanced quickly, we only dated for three and a half months but I really feel like I want to take this step with you.- said Simon making me look into his eyes.

- To live? Did we date? "I asked, and his face only conveyed concern and a bit of disappointment.

- Really Jace?

- I was kidding ... Of course I want to go live with you ... There is nothing I want more in life than that.

- Don't do this to me Jace! You already know how I get these jokes.

"Simon, you think you'll excuse me, I just want to talk to Clary a little bit of nothing, but please don't go anywhere without me." I said looking into her eyes and I kissed her on the lips.
- I won't move.

"Simon, I love you!" I said, walking away from him.

- Me too - replied smiling and went to Clary.

- We need to talk. Clary, we really have to go, I only have half an hour left to find the portal.

- I know, I've been trying but I can't find it. I already asked Magnus for help but he is not the same and seems to have lost some confidence in him. He is the only one who can help us find and return home.

"I found him," said Magnus coming to our side.

"We have to go," Clary said, but part of me wanted to stay here and be happy with Simon. "I know you like him but we have to go back."

"I know," he said and we walked through the portal back to our world.
