all jungkook's life - he'd been known as the "good boy"
which he loved - it was by far his favourite thing to be called.
but it meant that he had gotten so used to family, friends, teachers, neighbours and even strangers ruffling his soft hair and calling him a "good boy!"

he adored it - the praise, the attention, the love. he craved it - and usually everyone was happy to give it to him.

however, recently jungkook has had some bad press.

everything he could be pulled up on, he was.

"jungkook of bts involved in car crash"

"jeon jungkook accused of plagiarism"

"bts member jeon jungkook involved in girlfriend scandal"

"jungkook, bts' maknae has a tattoo?!"

and so.much.more.

the poor boy was exhausted. every day he was getting called into work because he had to clear up an incident or allegation against him - he was trying so hard to just keep quiet, until all his 'controversies' blew over. but he just couldn't.

it was spiralling out of control, and bighit weren't doing much to help.

"tell us now jungkook, was that girl your partner?"

"no! i don't even like girls!"

he had them there.

but the comments hadn't just taken a toll on his work, it was starting to effect his mental health too.

he now blatantly refused to drive - scared of causing another accident and being called horrible names again.

"murderer" nobody died!
"drunk" he was completely sober!
"reckless" he was trying to avoid hitting illegally parked cars!
"irresponsible" he apologized right away!

but no one would listen.

at around eleven at night, jungkook awoke with a start - in a cold sweat and badly shaking.

he hadn't been sleeping well at all, but it all finally caught up with him so he decided to go to bed at around 9pm.

he climbed out of his soaked sheets and ventured into the hallway.

he looked around desperately for someone, until he head a tv blaring in namjoon's room.

he's awake.

jungkook tentatively knocked on namjoon's large white door - he anxiously played with his sleeves as he waited for a reply.

after about six seconds, he heard the tv pause and namjoon's deep voice say "come in"

jungkook pushed open the door to see namjoon laying on his bed, wearing checkered pyjama bottoms and a grey hoodie

"hey kook, you okay?"

jungkook looked his hyung dead in the eyes and started bawling.

jungkook sat on namjoon's bed, head buried in his neck and hyperventilating.

"hey baby, it's gonna be alright. shhh shh just try to calm down for me okay?" namjoon said, rubbing jungkook's back as he held him close to his chest.

"listen to hyung's heartbeat angel."

with that, jungkook's breathing slowly steadied, until he was calm enough to talk to namjoon.

"joonie hyung, am i still a good boy?"

namjoon looked puzzled, "what do you mean koo?"

"recently, it seems like everyone just has bad things to say about me. it's always oh jungkook did this and he was seen with this person or he got a tattoo and he-"

"kookie, slow down okay?"

"i just don't want people to think i'm bad!.. i'm not a bad boy am i hyung?"

(that sounds weird, i apologise :/)

"aww kookie, you could never be a bad boy - in fact, you're the best boy i've ever met! you don't need to worry about the media, they make things up because they know people will read it if they slap your face on the article. i promise, you'll always be our good boy."

that was all jungkook needed to hear. he felt content now, his bad dream had been totally forgotten, and now he was sitting in the arms of one of his favourite hyungs. (spoiler alert they're all his faves)

it was strange, the maknae looked so small in namjoon's grasp. he loved it.

"sleep here tonight hyung?" jungkook mumbled sleepily.

"yes baby, sleep here tonight"

"goodnight, my good boy."

thank you so much for reading!! i quite like the idea for this one, and i love to think how small kook would look in namjoon's arms 🥺🥺
