Okay first of all, I am so sorry for pretty much abandoning this story. I am determined to update more regularly again though, so stay tuned for that. :)

"Not trying to worry you but big boss is on his way over to us" Luke said as a slight grin formed on his lips. I rolled my eyes at the smug look on his face and tried my best to act cool but failed miserably as I heard Mr. Greenfield's deep voice next to me. "There's two guest, Mr. Lock and his wife, who'd liked to be escorted to their seat personally. They're arriving just now." he told me and I nodded as I looked at him. "Mr. Lock is a very important business partner for A.G. cooperation. I can't have you mess this up." he then added as he took the glass of champagne from my hand. I gave him a confused look but then decided to just do my job and not question Mr. Greenfield. "Gotta go" I said as I walked past Luke and quickly made my way to the entrance where an older couple stood next to a security guard. "Good evening. Welcome at A.G. cooperation's charity ball. My name is Stefanie Bauer and I am Mr. Greenfield's personal assistant. It's Mr. and Mrs. Lock, right?" I asked, trying to sound as professional and confident as I could.
Mr. Lock nodded as he looked at me and his wife gave me a warm smile. "You're new, aren't you?" Mr. Lock then asked me, a blank expression on his face. "I am, yes. I've been in this position for a bit over two weeks now, sir." I told him.
'Is it really that obvious?' I thought to myself. "You're fine sweetheart, it's just that there's been quite a few personal assistants in the past years. My husband didn't mean it like that." Mrs. Lock explained, making me realise that I must've been thinking out loud once again. I just gave them a quick smile and tried to stay calm.
"You look quite young to be working in a position like this" Mr. Lock then stated, raising his eyebrows at me but I still didn't break my smile. "Yeah I'm almost 22 which makes me quite young to be doing a job like this but I've got a bachelor degree in business and I fulfil all the requirements made for this position, sir." I told him with confidence but still stayed polite. Mr. Lock just nodded and didn't say anything else. I guess this man just wasn't very easy to impress.
"Now please follow me, I'm going to show you to your table, Mr. and Mrs. Lock" I then said, not wanting to go any further into this, hoping I didn't leave a bad first impression. They both followed me, Mrs. Lock still smiling at me softly, while Mr. Locks's expression was impossible to read.
"If there's anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask me. Can I offer you some champagne to start the evening?" I asked them as we arrived at their table and they both sat down. "Sure, why not" Mr. Lock said and I nodded with a smile. "I'll be right back" I told them as I quickly looked for a waiter and waved him over. I then grabbed two glasses of champagne from his plate and made my way back to the Locks' table. "I hope you enjoy your evening Mr. and Mrs. Lock" I told them, once I had handed them their glasses. They both thanked me, Mr. Lock smiling at me for the first time. I returned the smile and turned on my heel, walking away from their table and started to look for Luke.
"Wow you look stressed, girl" Luke said as I walked up to him. "Yeah this Mr. Lock-guy pretty much judged me from the second he saw me." I told Luke and sighed. "What was his problem?" Luke asked me, raising one of his eyebrows curiously. "Well he basically made me seem unqualified to be a PA" I said, not wanting to go into any more detail right now. "What? How would he be able to tell? He doesn't even know you?" Luke defended me instantly but I just shrugged. "Whatever, I don't wanna get into this now. I gotta be professional and focus on work" I told him and forced a smile. "Here" he then said and handed me his glass of champagne, since Mr. Greenfield took mine earlier. I was still wondering what he meant when he did that and told me to not mess this up. Why would he say it like that? Almost as if he expected me to do something wrong.
"Are you okay on your own again, I think I should do a quick round and check if everything is running smoothly." I explained to Luke after just talking to him for a few minutes. "Sure. You do what you have to do. I'll go talk to Matt over there. He works at A.G. too" he told me with a smile and I nodded.
More and more people seemed to be arriving and it got a little more crowded, so it was harder to walk through the halls. Everything seemed to be going as planned though, which was really nice for a change. "I need a word with you" I suddenly heard Mr. Greenfield's voice as he grabbed my wrist from behind me. I was startled by this sudden action and turned around as he started to lead me away from the hall and into a small room that was only for staff. I still had Luke's half full glass of champagne in my hand, which I almost spilt on some random woman as Mr. Greenfield pulled me through the crowd. I couldn't help but wonder what he wanted to talk to me about. He didn't seem too joyful but then again that was really rare for him anyways. Maybe Mr. Lock talked to him and told him about how unqualified and unprofessional he thinks I am. Or maybe I messed something up on the guest list. There were multiple things I was going through in my head, trying to check whether I had maybe forgotten something really important. The sound of the door being quite roughly shut, tore me out of my thoughts and I bit my lip nervously as I looked at Mr. Greenfield, trying not to show how worried I was though.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Sorry to leave you on a bit of a cliffhanger but maybe if I have the time, there will be another update later today.
What do you think Mr. Greenfield could possibly want from her? Feel free to comment.
