Chapter 39

"Yeah... I am too," he says, watching his husband work. He holds his head, mumbling, "yeah that hit me hard..." The Android takes out a plate and puts the eggs onto it. He cuts the stove off and picks up the plate and mug to take to Gavin. He walked over and gave it to him, as well as giving him a kiss on the cheek before walking back to the kitchen. Gavin looked up, thanking him. He smiled softly before he started eating. "You are too kind, you know love?" He asks the android. He watched his tea steep after he ate. "Tea takes a while to steep..." He mumbles to himself, looking up at Nines. The Android cleaned up the kitchen and after he finished that he walled back over to Gavin and sat across from him resting his head on his hands. "You ok Nines?" He asks the android, tilting his head slightly. Gavin gets up and stands beside Nines and rubs the android's back. He tries to comfort Nines. "Yeah, if course, why do you ask?" He asked looking up at Gavin. He didn't know it he was just tired or something else was wrong, he just acted like everything was normal. "You seemed agitated or stressed, is there something seriously wrong?" He asks, kissing the android's cheek softly. "Nines, I am worried about you..." He says, continuing to rub the android's back.

"I may be slightly lightheaded, but other than that I think I'm okay" he responds with a slight shrug. "If you say so..." He says, sitting back at his spot. "Just... Tell me if there is something wrong like you tell me to do, and I do," he says softly. The Android smiles softly "Don't worry ill be fine" he responds resting his head in one of his hands watching Gavin. Gavin sips his tea, jumping a bit. "Shit! It is hOT!" He shouts, setting down the mug gently as he can. "Ok, but I still want you to tell me if you feel bad or anythin', k?" He asks the android, pulling out an ice cube to eat so he doesn't singe his tongue completely. "I will bebe" he responds closing his eyes as smiling "Be careful it's hot," he says sarcastically. "No shit Sherlock!" He laughs, sitting back down with another ice cube, but the one he doesn't have in his mouth into his tea. Gavin smiles, watching the ice fizz and melt away into the tea. The Android smiled "Why you yell at meeeeeeeee" he says jokingly as he smiles softly "Is your tea good?" he asks smiling. "Ah," he says, smiling as he continues to watch the foamy texture swirl in the cup. "Oh uh, yeah," he stammers, just realising he isn't reciting vines (or whatever shit) with friends currently.

"Peanut Butter child?" he asks looking at Gavin laughing "And I'm glad it's good" he replies smiling and using both of his hands to support his head. "I uh forgot... Ok? Yeah, I uh..." Gav stumbles to find words and ends up embarrassing himself. "Yeah..." He says at last, softly. Gavin smiles, as he has answered both questions efficiently. The Android smiles "you're too cute Gavin" he says sticking out his tongue.  Gavin returns the gesture, smiling. "No, yOU!" He says, a bit too loudly, but honestly doesn't care. "Uno reverse card!!" he replies "not gonna lieu cute, no homo.....unless?" He says proud of himself that he knows about this. Gavin snorts, laughing. "Oh my god, Nines!" He says, laughing. He uses the table to get back up. "You know that one? Wow..." Gavin says softly. "I know many me mes Gavin" he replies "I like the Kids Bop one, and the rode work ahead one. I like alot of them actually" he responds with a smile on his face "We would be considered Boomers" "Road work ahead?! I sure hope it does! Wait what?" He says, then tilting his head in confusion. The Android snickered "Oh my god Gavin!" be covers his face as he laughs harder. Gavin was confused. "Wh-???" He asked, completely confused. Gavin thinks for a second, "but... I am like... 43, gen z in fact,  that- wait. It is a joke. Isn't it?" He looks at Nines with a bit of a look of 'you kidding me?' "Yes but to kids today we would be considered boomers," he explains smiling as he continued to giggle.

Gavin stayed silent. "Fair enough, even though we are still technically young," he says, crossing his arms and sipping his tea. "Any kid or teenager would call a person over 18 would call people boomers, hell even just people slightly older than them" he explains "Yes, you are young, I don't have a defined age but I look like I'm either 27 or 30 something," he says. (No. Not that big of an age gap. Like...maybe Nines is 35-38. What he looks like to me at least) Gavin tried not to laugh, as it was true. "Well then," he says, looking down at his tea again. "Awhh... My froth is gone..." He whines quietly. "The word froth is so weird, not gonna lie," he says regaining composure. "Fair," he says, sipping it more. "That is fair," he says softer. He stares off into space, pondering and daydreaming. The Android smiles as he looks at his hand "Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey" he repeats to Gavin. "What?" He says, snapping out of the trance. "What, did you need somethin'?" He says, a bit tenser. The Android puts his hand near Gavin's face showing him an image on his hand "Why is this so funny to me WHO IS IT???!" be asks. Gavin snickers, biting his lip a bit until he bursts out into laughter. "Oh, it is Elmo! The monster of my toddler part of childhood!" He says, laughing still. The Android started laughing "how about this stuff??" he asks smiling and laughing again. "Jeez Nines, you really pulled these outta the dark, huh?" He says, laughing so hard he cries and blushes. He regains composure while the cats look confused.

"I have had them in my memory saved" he explains giggling a bit and as he swipes to this. Gavin bites his lip again so he doesn't laugh even more. "Woooow..." He says, snickering. "Isn't this a Kirby thing?" he asks tilting his head a bit. "Yep," Gav says, nodding. "It is," he tells the android. He finishes his tea and sets it in the sink. The Android gets up "Well we've gotta leave if we are gonna get to the shelter in time" he kisses Gavin softly as he hugs him a bit. Gavin kisses Nines back and slips his jacket on after the android releases him from the embrace. He hands Nines his jacket and smiles, saying, "let's go." The Android puts his jacket on, he has been thinking of getting a new one so he has a few choices but all he wants to do is be with Gavin They walk out the apartment. Gavin stretches again. "Lovely day, of course. This is surprising, but considering how nice it was yesterday, I am not surprised. Are you?" He asks Nines, looking up at the sky and then the android. The Android smiled "Its always a good good day when you're around Gavin" he replies "Its cheesy but it true" he says chuckling a bit. Gavin smiles. "Of course Nines," he says softly. He holds onto Nines' hand tight. "You aren't wrong," Gav tells Nines.

The Android smiled happily "I know Im right" he says as he kisses Gavins cheek before they walk down the stairs. They have an elderly woman as their neighbour and she is always in touch with the couple, she walks up to them and she compliments their rings. "You know everything though!" He scoffs. Gav is surprised by their neighbour. "I am so happy that humanity is finally accepting homosexual marriage completely after years and years of arguing over it! I would just hate to see my favourite neighbours be saddened that they couldn't be together," she tells them, smiling warmly. Gavin returns the smile, saying, "yeah, Nines would've probably freaked out most though. Glad you are happy Mrs Kiedrowski, thank you for being so nice when nobody was." He glances up at Nines, still smiling softly. The Android squeezes Gavins hand abit as he chuckles "Yeah I probably would have been more freaked out" he responds cheerfully "It good thats different species marriages are legal now even though people dont except it as much" he states brushing his hair back a bit with his free hand. Mrs Kiedrowski giggles a but agreeing with Nines statment "Your welcome Gavin I dont see the reason to hate people like you two, its homophobic and racist" she explains as she put her hands in her pockets.

"Agreed," he says nodding. "Well, we should get going, we don't want to be late. See you later Mrs Kiedrowski!" Gavin says, waving after checking his watch. "Such a sweet elder, huh love?" He asks Nines after they walk off a bit. The Android waves to her as he looks over to Gavin "Yeah she really is. She is one of the first few people I actually got close too, except for you and Connor" he says  smiling as they walk out of the building and onto the sidewalk still hand in hand.
