Chapter 42

Gavin smiles. "You have a perfect and soft face though, your jaw may be sharp, but it makes you Nines. You have the cutest freckles, and as much as you remind me, you can't tell me you don't like my 5 o'clock shadow," he says, smirking. He giggles, pushing the android away gently and walking back over to his seat. "Yeah but I still need to remind you to shave sometimes, it's gotten long before. Yes, I do love your 5 o'clock shadow!" he smiles softly kissing Gavin's cheek before he sat down. "Yeah, it has gotten long, but not even an eighteenth of Hank's, no, not even one 30th of Hank's beard! It was maybe a centimetre!" He argues, sneering a bit. "Stiiiillll," he says crossing his legs and smiling "You know I love you," he says putting his hand on Gavin's leg and started looking through emails. "I know. I love you more though," he says, bringing back his same back and forth nonsense. He watched over Nines' shoulder humming once again. "What was that?" Gavin asks, "wait to go back up, what is that?" He points at the screen, stopping his humming.

He scrolls upward "Not sure, what do you think it is??" he asked him. Gavin shrugs. "Let's see... Does it seem like if we looked at it it would open a computer virus?" He asked Nines. "I don't know and I don't want to test it," he says looking at him. Gav nods. "I understand," he says softly. "I was just wondering," he justifies. "It looks like an advert but I'm not sure," he says kissing Gavin softly. "Adverts can be, but still. I understand," Gavin says, smiling. "Is it just me, or is it intimidatingly quiet in here?" He asks, getting up and looking into the hallway. "Sorry, just my paranoia," Gavin says, shaking his head a bit. He smiles softly putting his hand on Gavin's thigh "It's alright I know what you're saying" he cuts the computer off as two people walk in, it was the inspection agency. "We came to inspect this establishment if you wouldn't mind keeping out of our way, that would be great," one of them says kindly and Gavin nods once, staying seated and looking at Nines softly, but a bit nervous. "I hope they aren't a bit... Homophobic or anything..." He mumbles to Nines.

"I hope they aren't either" he whispers turning to him pulling out a notebook from the desk "I just hope they are pricks," he says chuckling a bit. Gavin tries not to laugh. "Kinda like I was? Before you changed me?" He asks quietly. He peers over to see what the notebook's contents are. "You weren't a prick, you were just a closeted nice person, everyone knows you were gay but not many people knew you were nice," he says drawing weird triangles and shit on one of the pages with a pen. Gavin watches over his shoulder. "I didn't know you liked to doodle... Have you been practising your handwriting as well?" He asks the android. Looks at the page, filling with Nines' peculiar triangles and doodles. "Yeah, most Androids have perfect penmanship, only a select few Androids can paint out of their head like Markus" he explains writing Gavin's name in cursive "See" he lifts the notebook so he can see properly. Gavin is in awe. "I am so jealous... I thought androids could only usually write in Cyberlife sans... I am seriously jealous of your handwriting..." He says, stretching a bit.

"Oh thank you, I can also do that," he says smiling "What do you want me to write and what font??" he asks resting his head on his hand. "Nono... It's fine. I am just in complete awe," Gavin says, leaning back on Nines. "Huh, I thought you would be offended by me saying that..." He murmured softly. "Eeh not really, its an actual font so I know how to do that," he says smiling softly continuing to doodle. "Well, you should practice normal handwriting. Like block handwriting, it would be useful to try. That'd be cool," Gavin tells Nines. "I can try that," he says "Writing your name in cursive is very flowery and nice-looking," he says flipping the pen in his hand. "I know, maybe it is because I can be perfect!" He said very dramatically. "Maybe you could try and draw..." Gav said, drawing a base on a new page. I could never really tried to if I'm being honest, what specimen should I draw??" he asks grabbing a red pen out of the cup. "Hm..." Gavin thinks. He begins to sketch the outline lightly. "Good question," he says. Gavin continues to draw, glancing up every so often.

"Could I draw you?" Nines asks as he smiled softly resting his head in his hands "You are a beautiful specimen and I love you so it would be perfect" he explains tapping his pen on the notebook. Gavin looks up. "Sure, nothing better to really do yet," he said, smiling. "And I know I am perfect. Mainly cuz you tell me all the time," Gavin purrs, mirroring Nines until sitting normally. "You are the perfect little man, I wouldn't ask for better because you are the best and I love you!" he complimented as he kissed his nose and started drawing him. Gavin giggled, trying not to move. "Well, I love you more Nines," he says. He tried his best not to move and disturb Nines' drawing and mess it all up. Like he always does. He stretches and pops his back and sitting back how he was. "Do I need to pull out the Uno reverse card again because I will?" he says laughing a bit as he sticks his tongue out "I should pop your back when we get home or at least give you some massage" he stated meeting Gavin's gaze. "Is that a threat? Do it. I dare you," he challenges Nines, laughing. "And... Maybe, but you do so much for me and I feel bad that I do little to nothing for you," he tells the android, his expression was softened. Gav shrugs a bit.

Nines puts his pen down and leans over to Gavin as he kissed him softly "Its okay baby, I don't ask for much anyway so Its alright" he states grabbing Gavin's hand and brought it up to his mouth, kissing is soft as he put his free hand on Gavin's thigh. Gavin hugs Nines, sighing. "Alright, if you say so. I am just an attention-hungry gremlin that will give something if you want," he says, putting his face on Nines' shoulder. He lets go of Nines so if he wants to finish the drawing he can. He smiles awkwardly a bit, looking down before keeping contact with the android's gaze. The agents walk out and tell them that they are up to date on everything they leave as Nines kisses Gavins cheek "No your not an attention hungry gremlin, you are human, you are Gavin Reed" he explained squeezing his hand a bit. Gavin laughs. "Alright then," he says. He watches the agents walk out, then looking back at Nines with a soft smile. "I am attention-hungry though, you can't deny that fact," Gav said, sticking out his tongue a bit, like Nines does. "But your my attention hungry goblin" he said kissing him softly as he runs his hamds through Gavind hair "I love you" he says looking down at the notebook as there is a semi-realistic drawing of Gavin. Gavin puts his chin on Nines' shoulder. "You aren't wrong, I am yours. You draw really well Nines," he says, hugging Nines. "I love you too," he says softly.

"Oh thank you honey" He says kissing him softly "We only have an hour or two of work left would you like to get dinner after this??" he asks smiling softly. Gavin nods. "Yeah, that would be nice. I shall go check on some of the animals. They have been oddly silent," he says, letting go and getting up. He smiles as he adds a few more details to the drawing before getting up and cleaning. Nines started humming Boys will be Bugs and moved to the song. He danced tapping his foot as he pushed the chairs in. Gavin takes a deep breath. "Oh jeez... What...?" He asks himself, looking at an open cage. He looks at the name on the cage and calls for them. He could hear Nines having fun cleaning while he was looking for the kitten.

"Gavin you re-Oh I found a kitten!" he yell as he picks it up and walks back to the cages. Gavin sighs in relief. "Oh jeez. Thank god!" He said, looking at Nines, carrying the kitten. "Thank you, that freaked me out," he told Nines. Nines handed Gavin the kitten and smiled "Glad I found her she was in a storage box" he explained kissing Gavin on the forehead. Gavin smiles. "Awwhhh..." He says softly, putting the kitten into its cage. "Yea... Cats are tricky creatures. Adorable tricky creatures," he tells the android, closing the cage. He nods in agreement as he cut the lights of and grabbed Gavins hand kissing it softly "I love you Gavin"

"I love you too Nines," he says, holding Nines' hand tight. He smiles slightly, squeezing the android's hand a bit. "What time is it?" Gav asks Nines. " It is six forty-three" he responds looking over at him with a small smile as they walked out of the shelter. "Alright..."  Gavin said, hugging Nines' arm. He sighed, leaning on the android. Gavin smiles too, getting off of Nines' arm and just holding onto his hand.
