"Do you guys know what's up with Roman?"

Patton and Logan looked at each other from each side of Virgil's hunched position. He leaned on his knees, staring at the fire. The annoyance and confusion radiated from both his posture and gaze. His hands started continuously flipping and pulling on one another. He pulled his robe tightly around him, and pulled the collar of it up more towards the base of his jawline in fear. His foot was tapping the atmosphere at the speed of sound. He was anxious. He looked between the two of them, oblivious to their concern.

"What are you looking at?" He asked .Their eye contact broke, and they adverted their eyes from one neater awkwardly in attempt to break the understanding they held together.

"Each other," Logan said matter-of-factly. Virgil rolled his eyes.

"I'm really worried about him." Virgil said. Patton gave him a sympathetic smile.

"You're worried about everything, kiddo." Patton said. Virgil looked at him as if he were serious.

"Why are you acting like him?" He asked. Patton raised his eyebrows in confusion. Logan reached out a hand and placed it on Virgil's shoulder.

"They have the same amount honesty, it's nothing major." Logan said. Virgil looked at him with annoyed disbelief.

"I'm still concerned about him." Virgil said. Patton sighed.

"Why?" He asked. Virgil shriveled up into a ball and stared at the fire, talking to it as he talked to them.

"He keeps acting so sensitive around me, like I'm glass. He gets all shivery, and he's just acting so weirdly, I don't know what to do." Virgil said with a frustrated groan. Logan looked to the ground deep in thought, Patton looked at Virgil's eyes from his right side.

"Do you think he's going through something?" Patton asked.

"Well, no duh, I just don't know what." Virgil said in a soft yet assertive tone.

"Did you scare him in any way? Do anything super dangerous?" Patton asked. Virgil's eyes looked up as he thought. He shook his head from side to side.

"No, the most dangerous thing I've done all year was smoke up my cauldron in potions." Virgil said. Patton looked at him with a confused lip.

"Then it's something on his end." Patton said.

"Has he been questioning his identity again?" Logan asked. Virgil raised an eyebrow.

"N-No, I don't know if he would be anyway, I wasn't there-" "No, house." Logan clarified. Virgil made an O with his mouth.

"Yeah, well, nothing out of the normal. He wears his scarf when it's cold, and he hasn't added to his... display... so I think he's okay with that. Well, okay to the point of its to being worse than it already is." Virgil explained. Logan nodded attentively, trying to use his intuition to avoid the obvious oblivion of Virgil and Roman's relationship.

"Has he felt anything for anyone lately?" Patton asked out of the blue.

Silence fell between the three of them as Virgil's cheeks tinted pink.

"Has he?" Logan asked.

"Not to my knowledge," Virgil said.

"But would it explain why he's so... distant?" Patton asked. Virgil shrugged.

"I don't know, the only time I've ever witnessed that kind of... relationship... was when my Dad was here, and I was young when he left. And I mean, there's Remus and Deceit, whatever they are to one another, but that's a toxic ball of hell," Virgil said as he looked from the fire to the two one them once more. "And I mean, there's you guys but you two aren't together."
