if you're a dreamer
2015When I woke up the next day, I hardly had a hangover. I took a much needed shower and let my self be natural - the only plans I had involved my kitchen table. My stomach growled as I stared at my salad. I sneered at the thought and craved something juicy and fattening. I got ready to go out to get some Burger King and headed out of the old apartment. When I got to the steps, I saw a new familiar face walking towards me with the most beautiful smile I've seen.
"Natalie! I'm happy to see you!" He gave me a hug and I could see his hair was slightly damp. His body soap smelt like heaven and I let him hold me as tight as he wanted. "I didn't know if you had plans today but I want to hang out!"
I was taken back but decided why not. I had so much fun last night it was hard to say no.
"If you don't mind me stuffing my face first." I was warning him, because I was starving.
"That sounds perfect right now." We walked down the street and I started to get butterflies in my stomach. Just being around him was joyful.I stuffed my face quickly so we could carry on with whatever the day held for us.
"I was contemplating asking if you wanted to get buzzed and go on these hot hair balloons." Austin pointed up to the sky where I saw two or three hot air balloons floating above. I knew they did it as part of the last days of the festival and I never had gotten a chance to go on them.
"Austin, I believe in a past life we were best friend."
He placed his hand over his heart and said, "I'm touched really." Then he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the closest bar. His confidence was a turn on to me. Not to sound conceded, but I am an attractive woman. I knew this but hated that people thought it made me unapproachable or a nasty person or even conceded. The way Austin had the confidence to grab my hand and have his mind made up on what he wanted to do was actually impressive.
We found an outside bar where we ordered drinks for each other."So have I heard any of your music before?" I was three shots in and my stomach was warm as hell. I was feeling ballsy.
"You could have before but I know in a month or two you will for sure." I raised an eyebrow at him and took out my phone to search him up on his SoundCloud."Alright but let me show you the one I recorded in an actual studio." I giggled and sipped my usual drink - White Russian. He pressed play but quickly pressed pause. "I'm actually really nervous right now."
"Austin, it's not a big deal." I grabbed my phone and looked at the name. Post Malone. "I already like just because the names dope."
He laughed at me which got him a sour stare in return. "My stage name is Post Malone," I giggled and he continued, "the song name is White Iverson." I raised and eyebrow and waited for him to let go of my hand so I could play it. "Don't judge me."
"I would never."I was honestly more impressed than I expected to be. He had me listen to the entire thing and by the end we were both smiling. "Dude I love it." I grabbed my phone and liked the song before subscribing to his profile. He gave me a smile and ordered us another round before we tried to act sober to get on the hot air ballons.
"I've never done this, I'm pretty excited." As we lifted off the ground the basket shook, so I grabbed Austin's hand. He gave it a squeeze and pulled me into a hug. "You're alright with me Natty."
"That's ugly," I laughed while pulling away. I looked up into his blue eyes and bit my lip to stop me from pressing them against his. "I'm calling you Posty."
"Jokes on you, I love it."
