Seth and I finished getting ready in our attire. Creative told us earlier that there was gonna be a change of plans. They wanted the main event of WrestleMania to be a mixed tag team match with the winners taking all. It worked for me. Besides, I didn't even have to pitch the idea of Jordan and I teaming up because they already thought of it. Fastlane was gonna be the start of our story line together. I was excited.
Drew McIntyre and Charlotte were already out in the ring talking about Seth and I. Making fun of us. They'd gotten a little doll and used that for a baby and everything acting like we were some old couple from the 'good old days'. I actually laughed at it, honestly. It was funny.
Seth's music hit and we walked out through the curtain. The crowd went nuts for us and it hit me with goosebumps every single time. I loved the WWE Universe. All of them were incredible. Even the ones watching from home. We stood on the stage and drank in the cheers from the crowd. I looked over at Seth and smirked. He put his arm around my shoulders and we walked down to the ring together. Seth held the ropes open for me and I climbed in before walking over to the other side of Charlotte and McIntyre. Seth grabbed a microphone and stood next to me.
"Seth, Davina, what a shock. I'm actually surprised it took this long for you to interrupt us." McIntyre said.
"Man, I was laughing with everybody else." Seth said. "That was pretty funny, right?" The crowd cheered and I smirked. "I gotta give credit where credit is due. You nailed it. Making fun of how much older than Davina I am. I am ten years older than her. And Davina does have moments when she may be too dumb to know which way is right and left." I shrugged. "And me walking around like I'm some sort of corporate robo-Rollins. And you really hammered home the fact that our daughter is the most beautiful one of us both because, I mean, she is." I nodded as the crowd cheered. "It was good. It was actually one of the few good things you've done here." Seth told Drew. "But then the jokes were over. And you stopped acting like Seth Rollins and then you started acting like Drew McIntyre. You see, we can take a joke. We don't have a problem with a spoof about us. But we definitely we have a problem with you two." I looked at Charlotte and raised my eyebrows at her. The smirks were gone, the smiles were gone and I was all business now. "Because with you two, it's not just a joke. You actually believe what you're saying is true. And it couldn't be further from the truth." He pointed at Charlotte. "Like you. You actually believe that Davina kept you from coming to Monday Night Raw, yet you're standing on Monday Night Raw right now. How the hell could that even happen? Don't you realize how asenign that is? Here's the truth, and it's gonna sting a little bit. They didn't ask you to come to Raw because they didn't want you on Raw because the last year you were here you didn't do jack." The crowd cheered and Charlotte looked at Seth confused. "And you?" He moved on to McIntyre. "You got my life all planned out. This is just a nine year plan to use the WWE as a vaulting board to Hollywood so I can go on to the red carpet and leave the WWE in the dust. Man, are you high? I'm as brand loyal as Vince McMahon and hell I'm not even cool about it. Everybody here knows I'm loyal to the WWE. Hell, half of them hate me for it. They want me to go but they can't get rid of me." It's true. Every time Seth walks through the curtain there are always those few people that boo the crap out of him. And during that time I was gone from WWE, Seth went off to make a movie which was actually a really good movie. "Drew, I did a movie and then I came back. A lot of superstars do this. Triple H has done it. Randy Orton's done it. Sheamus has done it. John Cena has done it." The crowd cheered. "No, no, no, it's cool. Because at least you're doing something. I'm still trying to figure out what you're doing here other than riding the coat tails of your father." He pointed at Charlotte. "Do you know that right now the women are on top of the world? And that means that each and every week, women aren't just allowed, they are encouraged to step in this ring and prove they are just as good if not better than the men." Seth looked at me and I shrugged with a smirk. "I don't know if you guys saw this, but last week Davina was attacked by a dude and she still got back up like nothing happened." He looked at Charlotte. "Every week you show up, steal a paycheck and prove that you are nothing but a waste of space. Oh, wait, wait, wait. And you wanna knock Davina for having a baby so young? How old are you guys? How many kids you guys got?" The crowed oohe'd at that. "Let me just crunch the numbers real quick. None. What are you firing blanks there sport?" Seth tapped Drew where the sun don't shine. I had to stop myself from laughing at Drew's reaction. The crowd, however, was full on laughing. "A long time ago, man, I told you not to bring a knife to a gun fight. But you didn't listen. Because you two don't listen. You talk and talk and talk and talk and you don't even listen to yourselves because if you did you would realize just how ridiculous you sound. Where we come from, if you fail, if you get knocked down you just get back up and move on. If you two so much as stumble, you blame everybody else. It's never your fault and there's always an excuse. And that type of attitude, you create this ego that is unbeatable, unstoppable, untouchable, but Drew, it's not real man. And real is gonna punch you straight in the mouth at WrestleMania." He looked at Drew serious but then he smirked. "You actually had me laughing when you were imitating me but then there was that moment when you took all the stuff off and you got serious." Seth handed me the microphone while he took off his shirt and tossed it into the crowd. "I think that's a hell of an idea." He stepped towards Drew. "I have just stripped away what you think makes me, me but I stand in front of you a man, the man that you're looking in the eyes right now and you know is going to crush you at WrestleMania. We are going to destroy you two at WrestleMania. You know why? Because you waste your time memorizing our lives and nine years here in the WWE and you still haven't memorized the code that we live by. You wanna talk tough, you better be tough and you're a puss. These two are nothing but gutless, spineless, loud mouth cowards. Prove me wrong. We are sold out here tonight and these people wanna see something happen. So make it happen man. Ball up that fist and take a shot. Just remember who you're swinging at. I'm the guy that tore his ACL and still finished a fight and if you swing, I'm gonna swing back." He looked at Charlotte. "Oh, and as much as you probably wanna come over here and slap the taste out of my mouth, you're frozen in your tracks because if you even step in my direction, Davina will knock the botox out your cheeks." I looked at Charlotte from under my lashes and a scowl on my face. I dare her to move an inch. They stepped forward a bit but then decided to get out of the ring. I smirked. Of course they did. Cowards.
Seth and I stepped forward a little and I took the microphone from Seth. "Yo, Drew and Charlotte." I said catching their attention. "I hope you're ready for WrestleMania because my man and I we're not only going to expose you for the fake ass people that you are, we're also coming to kick your ass." I dropped the microphone and Seth's music hit. He pulled me into him and pressed his lips to mine. I smirked at him and licked my lips as soon as he pulled away.
We got out of the ring and headed backstage together. I went my own way from Seth as soon as we got behind the curtain. I turned down a hallway and then I was attacked from behind. I could hear Charlotte's voice and Becky Lynch's voice as they both hammered away at me. They threw me into the wall and I laid on the ground holding my back. Charlotte pulled me up by my hair and threw me into the garage door before they both started kicking away on my stomach and ribs. They backed off a bit and then pulled me up before Charlotte power bombed me through the table. I laid there with my hand on my ribs, trying to regain my breath. These two were gonna pay for doing this. But this kicks off the storyline with me and Jordan.
Eventually I got up and walked back to the locker room and sat down next to Seth. He put his arm around me and smiled. "This story line is gonna be awesome. Ours and yours with Jordan." he said.
"I know." I said. "To be honest, I'm super excited because I get to work very closely with two important people in my life at the same time. It couldn't get any better than this."
He pressed his lips to mine and then we sat back and watched more of the show. I was excited to go home, get Gracie and head down to Florida. Jordan and Roman didn't come to Monday Night Raw tonight because they were still on vacation. Jordan had called me so excited and told me that Roman had proposed to her. I was so happy for my best friend. She was gonna marry the man she loved and she deserved it so much. Now we were gonna head home to Davenport, grab Gracie and head straight down to Florida for their engagement party which I had been informed is a total surprise for Jordan. She had no idea what was going on. But it was her turn to have all the surprise parties. She done it for me and now I was happy to give back to my best friend. She was like my sister which would make Roman my non-technical brother-in-law. He would be part of this family forever. Of course, considering he and Seth were so close, we already would be anyway. I couldn't wait to celebrate with them and I hear all about how Roman proposed. I wanted to know. I wanted to know how he did it and where, exactly, he did it. I wanted to know all of it. And I'm sure I would if Jordan had anything to say about it. It was all so exciting.
