Horse farm and a traumatized Shinichi (Shinkai)

Chapter 14

Kaito knew why Saguru was doing this, and he guessed that the other wanted to see how guilty he felt. And he felt horribly responsible for it. Kaito was too occupied to realize that there were two other people there as well, Kudo-san and Hattori.

"God, Saguru unsure. I just- arg...."

It frustrated him, as he was now confused. Why had the latter male-run outside? Saguru hummed waiting for him to explain.

"It seemed that I kinda brought out the old Shinichi back."

That made Saguru perk up as well the two other males who were leaning on the wall.

"Wait for a second, what?"

Kaito blinked as he heard Hattori's voice and he looked sheepish.

"You remember how upset he was before you two left?"

The two adults nodding.

"He did mention somethin' about ya'r hiding somethin' and a feelin' he had."

He gave a nod and let out a sigh.

"Yeah...he did tell me this before the session. When I was alone with Shinichi. It seemed that deep down he still is a detective, and I brought that part out of him."

He chuckled nervously and all three were curious now. The two people of Shinichi's life were in the most interested in this.

"He was driving me in a corner the second time when being alone. I was utterly surprised as at that time he hadn't stuttered at all. He was that stubbornly not letting me go. So I may or may not have told him that I was jealous. And he blurted out why, and then after this is said I quote "You detective is too curious for your own good." And he blurted something out that he was jealous himself and ran away. I froze and gah! I am such a moron!"

The whole thing was said in a flow so that no one could interrupt him and the last two sentences were said in a confused loud tone as going through his hair.

"Why was he jealous?"

He looked straight at the best friend of Hattori who blinked and soon snorted in amusement. And Saguru chuckled and ended up laughing. Even the father of Shinichi was looking amused.

"What?"

Saguru put his arm down, trying to stop his laughter, but it seemed when seeing the confused expression he laughed just harder.

"Ya two are ta densest people I evar knew."

All he has done was tilting his head in confusion as he couldn't get what Tantei-han meant.

"For once I agree with you, Hattori. Do you think we should help out?"

Hattori snorted and he was lost. It seemed that the two knew more then he was known at the moment.

"I don't know. Shinichi will kill me when he knows that I told ta fellow about it."

Saguru smirked at this and chuckled.

"Don't worry, for once I will protect you from the wrath. All this wouldn't have happened when the two would have talked this through. I think this all happened because the two misunderstood each other."

This was making him much more confused. What the four weren't realizing that Shinichi hid behind a corner, listening to the conversation.

"Alright, ya'r going to tell him. I have nothin' ta do with this."

Saguru chuckled softly and mused more at the confusion of him. The father watched, but not saying anything.

"You two are too dense. Shinichi has the hots for you. I know this because he said this himself, with quote "P-please d-don't t-tell h-him."

That made his eyes widen as he felt like facepalming himself. Of course, they just talked two days ago that both felt attraction towards each other. At that time he pushed it aside, not thinking much about it. But now everything made sense. Like why the other was trusting him that soon. Why the other was letting him sleep in the same bed. Why indigo and white were his favorite color, to the point that these two were his safe haven.

"God am I a moron. And we talked about having some kind of attraction to each other. How the heck was I that dense not to realize the others feeling? He even said himself that Indigo and white were his safe haven, how could I be that dense gah!"

He facepalmed himself and all three snorted in amusement.

Shinichi's eyes dulled more, thinking that he would probably now get rejected. After all, he was filthy. He wasn't human anymore, or not that much. His leg was healed by now and the hospital knew about this, but they promised that day that no one would know about this. He slipped down on the ground-hugging his legs, as burring his face into the legs.

"Do think he will be mad at me for not realizing it earlier?"

Saguru chuckled softly and ruffling his hair in a brotherly way.

"Nah, that moron won't be mad. He would hide it and bottle it up. Just tell him your feelings are mutual and everything is good. Just try not to hurt him, as he went through enough Kaito."

Kaito bit his lips at the last part and feeling his heart heavy. Shinichi hadn't written the details, but it was enough for him to make him feel horrible.

"Don't worry, I won't try to hurt him intentionally and I will tell him my feelings as I can't anymore hide it. I was scared shitless when hearing that shot and seeing him get almost abducted again."

A shiver ran through him. Never would he want Shinichi to look like this ever again. This was the second time he almost lost him again. Kaito wasn't going to hide it any longer. Watson suddenly ran somewhere and he let out a sigh, following the dog. After all, he wasn't wanting Watson out of his sight, not after what happened to one of his beloved horses. What he saw made him froze and his throat closed off as he felt his heart sting. In front of him was Shinichi hugging his knee's crying softly.

'Shit, did I mess up that badly?'

Kaito wasn't sure that the latter heard the rest of it, but he guessed that Shinichi was there the entire or almost the entire time. He rushed over and scooped him into a hug.

"Please, don't cry. I don't want to see you cry, I love you too much. Seeing you like this breaks my heart."

His voice was soft and he could feel the other froze at first. Head peeking out as the others face looked at him in utter surprise.

"Wh-what?"

Was all that escaped out of the other's mouth and he smiled softly as drying off the tears which rolled down on his cheeks.

"You heard me right you moron. I love you. Do you need any evidence?"

Shinichi opened his mouth but closed it again. The once dull eyes lightly shone more, and he guessed that he really heard not all of it, or maybe wasn't willing to listen to the rest of the conversation.

"Y-you sure t-that you lo-love someone li-like me?" (Someone who is broken, someone who wasn't normal...)

There was a hidden meaning behind it and he understood what Shinichi was trying to say. This was hurting him so much, and he hated it. He gave the other a kiss on his temples.

"Yes, I love everything about you. Even when you are fragile, even when you aren't that normal. Listen careful Shinichi. I always loved you, even before you disappeared. But I never realized it until you got kidnapped."

Shinichi blinked as he saw him flustered and he smiled softly at this.

"B-but y-you d-don't u-understand. M-my h-healing i-is stronger a-and t-they d-done s-so m-many b-bad t-things. I-I a-am f-"

Kaito wasn't letting him continue and kissing him instantly on the lips as almost said filthy. How dare they make him think that he was filthy, that he was worthless. He knew that the other male wasn't thinking highly of himself. He pulled away, to see Shinichi's eyes grow wide as well the blush spread deeper into the cheeks of the latter male.

"Don't and I mean don't ever say that word again. You aren't filthy, you aren't worthless. You are the most precious thing ever to me, and I don't like it no I despise them for making you think these things. I don't care what these people told you. I don't care that you heal faster. For me, you are Shinichi Kudo, someone who went through way too much. And the one I love so much."

He huffed out and Shinichi opened his mouth but closing it again. It seemed that the other was way too speechless to get something out, or maybe his shyness wasn't making it better for him. He felt three pairs of eyes on him, and as he glanced he saw the three other adults from before looking at him in appreciation. It was maybe a bit too early, but he needed to latter male to know that he liked him. Since that day when he was still Kaito Kid, and his feeling never changed one bit since then.
