The Christmas party had finally arrived. As hogwarts school grounds were covered in snow, the students dance in the great hall.
It was immensely cold outside, the windows were frozen and even the cats preferred to spend thier time inside the castle now.
Laughter and joy could be heard in the great hall but all I could think about was Viel. For the past few weeks she had tried her best to stay as friendly with me as possible, but I hadn't made it easy.
I didn't want to be so cruel but for some reason I couldn't help but feel irritated. I had been awfully cold towards her ever since the last full moon.
Though it never stopped her, she smiled just as often and hanged out in our common room nearly every evening. Was I maybe not important to her?
I sat down on one of the chairs in the great hall, watching the others dance. Lily had ended up agreeing to go to the party with James, which of course made him feel amazing.
Peter had invited a ravenclaw girl he has yet to introduce us to. Apparently they had been friends for awhile, though none of had ever meet her.
I on the other hand had asked no one, I felt like I didn't really deserve to. Besides if it couldn't be Viel what was the point anyway.
So that's why I was not participating in the parties dances. Instead I was sitting on a chair with Siruis by my side.
Apparently no one was good enough for him to invite, but really I think it was just that he didn't want to leave me all alone.
I appreciated the gesture but I couldn't help but feel like I had stolen his evening. He could be having fun with a girl he invited but instead he was talking to me.
Mustn't be very interesting, considering we already spend every single day together. Though I really enjoyed his company, it made me feel less alone and shitty.
I couldn't stand myself so badly that I had decided to go home for the Christmas holidays. I had already packed my belongings, I was leaving tomorrow.
Though the mauraders tried to convince me otherwise, I didn't change my mind.
"Oi, Moony, isn't that Viel?"
My head span around the second Siruis had said her name. There she was as beautiful as ever, I couldn't believe it.
She was wearing a dark blue dress with lace on top and silk on the bottom. The dress had a cut open for one of her legs allowing us to see the black high heels she had chosen to wear.
She was magnificent.
Her eyes trailed around the great hall as she admired the decorations and the people dancing. She caught Lily and James dancing together and she couldn't help but chuckle to herself.
Than a girl I couldn't recognize along with Peter, came up to greet her. She smiled, beaming with joy. I was so happy for her and I couldn't help but admire her beauty.
Than just as she was to turn her head in our direction, a hand placed itself on her waist, pulling her attention towards them instead of Siruis and I.
Quickly she recognized who it was and so did I. She had invited Atlas to be her partner for the party, I couldn't help but feel rage boil up inside me.
He wrapped his arm around hers as they walked over to the center of the great hall together. I couldn't help but hate myself as I watched her dance with him instead of me.
Once yet another song finished, Lily and James came running over to see us, with Viel just behind them.
"We're going to get some drinks," lily said, "do you guys want some?"
Siruis nodded in agreement and I simply declined.
"Hey do one of you want to come and dance with me?" Viel and offered to Siruis and I, "You shouldn't spend all evening sitting over here in the corner,"
"What If I want to?" I groaned, "shouldn't you be spending the evening with your partner it's rude to leave him alone you know,"
"Maybe, but he went to get drinks, and he's my friend he'll understand that I want to spend time with my other friends,"
"Will he though?"
Siruis could feel the tension between Viel and I rapidly grow. He felt uncomfortable and so he accepted Viel's offer leaving me to sit alone and mellow over my horrible attitude.
