Chapter 33

The first tournament was just around the corner, everyone was starting to get excited or nervous.
James and Siruis were impatient to find out what was about to go down.

"Je suis nerveuse," I overheard Anastasie talking with Viel but I couldn't understand much,

"ne t'inquiète pas Ana, ça va allez," okay so Viel was reassuring her I think,

"Tu ne saurais pas quelque chose toi, vue ta grand-mère ?" I think Anastasie was talking about Viel's grandmother, McGonagall.

If she was nervous and talking about McGonagall she was most likely trying to see if Viel knew something about the first tournament.

" Non, je suis désolé je ne sais rien," replied Viel, that meant I'm sorry, I know that.

Gosh I loved to hear Viel speak freach her voice was so sweet and soothing. Not that she didn't have a lovely voice normally.

"Welcome Students of Durmstrang, beauxbatons and hogwarts! We our gathered here today for the first tournament! Our champions will have to retrieve a golden egg from a specific dragon that they will have chosen randomly before the tournament begins, we must warn you all to be careful, let the tournament begin! "

It was amazing, to see a real dragon up close. They breathed fire all over the tournament grounds. The champions fought well all gaining their golden egg eventually.

When Davina had retrieve her egg all of hogwarts applause her, including Siruis and James. This might finally be what it takes for them to stop hating the whole house.

Wierdly enough even though it was Viel's house. It didn't really feel like it, she'd spend so much time with us I think Siruis and James forgot most of the time she wasn't in our house.

James Hughes was placed first during the tournament for being the fastest at retrieving his egg. In second place was Davina for having the best technique and in third Anastasie, it was an understatement to say that she was upset.

James was bragging about his victory and of course had a crowd of girls following him around. He was a charming man I must admit, but so arrogant.

Though that wasn't stopping the girls in hogwarts. I even overheard lily telling Viel how much she liked his accent.

I kept that information to myself though, because if our James had found out lily said that, things wouldn't go well.

James was already extremely upset that the Durmstrang champion's name was James. He didn't like the idea of having to share his name apparently.

He and Siruis would also complain about how he wasn't even that attractive and that they didn't understand why all the girls were fighting over him.

"You'd know the answer wouldn't you Viel?" James asked one evening,

"and why wouldn't I know?" lily asked raising an eyebrow,

"because you're taken," James implored,

"doesn't mean I'm blind," she snapped back at her boyfriend,

Viel interrupted the conversation before things got worse, "so I know because I'm single?" okay she was just digging James's grave further down,

"Well I'd assume," James apparently wanted to die,

"How insulting James !" Lily raised her voice, "for a matter of fact Viel doesn't take any interest in that James, but I do!"

"what!" James raised from his sit, "so what you're just gonna break up with me? Cheat on me?"

"don't be ridiculous, I'm not going to do anything of the sort,"

"then why take interest in other men?"

"James," lily rolled her eyes, "I'm allowed to admire other people, it's not cheating, I'm just saying I acknowledge that Hughes is a handsome man,"

"Well you shouldn't," James huffed,

"you're going to look at other girls James and that's normal you're allowed to find other girls attractive, for a matter of fact I know you find Viel attractive,"

It was almost surreal, at the exact same time, all three of us, James, Viel and I blurted out,
" what!? "

Lily simply shook her head," come on, I overheard you talking to Siruis about it, I mean you think she's pretty, doesn't mean you want to date her, because you're with me, what I'm trying to say is it's normal to find others attractive even if you're in a relationship,"

James was red," you didn't have to use that as an explanation, "

" yeah agreed, I didn't need to know that, " Viel said shaking her head as she tried to process,

" it's flattering Viel, " lily nugded her lightly,
" you're shyness adds to your charm, you're a pretty girl, you could get anyone if you'd like, I'm sure,"

" most definitely, " I whispered sadly to myself,
