"Summer Break" (If I Lose Myself)

Athena woke up early and knocked on the red Paladins door. It has been a few days since they had talked on the field. The girls have been hanging out a lot more and Athena wanted to learn something new about Faith. Also, Faith seemed to be doing somewhat better, she was trying. Athena was very surprised to see that she actually listened.
Soon enough, Faith heard the knock on her door and opens it to see Athena who looked energized and awake.
"Good morning Faith!" Athena smiles and waits for a response.
"Morning Athena" Faith wipes her eyes and yawns.
"It's to early for life Athena. I'm going to just sleep in" Faith tried walking away but Athena grabbed her hand.
"Come on Faith! Let's have a day for ourselves.... you barely wanna do anything anymore soooo maybe this will help" Athena does her puppy dog eyes and Faith couldn't say no.
"Fine but only because it's you" Faith let's Athenas grip tighten around her hand, and is dragged out of her room into the red lion.
"Okay princess. Where are we going?" Faith looks at Athena since she didn't know where she wanted to go.
"How about the small planet nearby full of the exotic flowers? We could make flower crowns!" Athena smiles and imagines them in flower crowns.
"How about no?" Faith shakes her head, not gonna happen. Athena sighs and tries to think of something else.
"How about we go to one of the nearby planets with all those shops?" Faith asks trying to keep Athena excited.
"The one with the hotel near what you humans call 'the beach'?" Athena asks and is responded by a nod by Faith.

A few hours later, and one long call with a worried Cassia later, the girls land the lion and check in at a small hotel like place near a "beach". The water looked like water, and from what they where told it was literally water. The planet was a miniature vacation place in the middle of space. The only thing missing was the actual humans from planet Earth.
The girls spent time shopping buying stuff for them and a few gifts for the others. They laughed and cried. They singed and danced. It was a great time for them both.

-first night-
"No way am I going to wear that..." Faith holds the shark onesie in front of her and looks at Athena who was wearing a cute panda onesie.
"Please! I'll let you do anything you want!" Athena does the puppy dog eyes again.
"Fine! Again...this is only because your asking" Faith sighs and puts it on. Athena smiles and helps Faith set up the movie.
"I'll make the popcorn, and I'll gather the candy you bought" Faith walks away and leaves Athena with the hardest choice. Picking the movie...
Athena chooses the movie and Faith returns with the food. They sat on the bed and watched the movie.

-Morning-
Summer woke up in the same bed as Faith. From the way she woke up with her arms wrapped around Faith, she was guessing they both fell asleep in this position. She was surprised that Faith hadn't killed her, then again she probably didn't notice. She goes back to sleep. Faith wakes up and sees Athena holding onto her. A hint of pink reaches Faiths cheeks as she held onto Athena a little tighter. Of course, being in the comfortable position they where. Faith just fell asleep again.

-Afternoon-
The girls both where awake and had changed to go down to the beach. Athena has a giant smile on her face as she ran down to the water and saw the crystal clear ocean. Tony fishes sailed around and the sky was clear. Faith was siting on a towel on the sand watching Athena play with some of the other aliens, mostly kids bringing joy to their faces.

Soon enough Athena races over to Faith.
"Faith! Come swim with me. I want to have fun!" Athena grabs Faith's hand again.
"I though you where having fun with the little tiny aliens" Faith removes her sunglasses and eyes Athena.
"Yeah but, I would be having way more fun with you! You can't say that wasn't true. I have yesterday as proof" Athena smiles and Faith realizes that Athena for once got the upper hand.
"Fine you win. I'll go in the water with you" Faith rolls her eyes and races into the water with Athena. Faith ends up splashing Athena, seconds later they broke out into a water war. When Athena lost sight of Faith she felt something pull her down below, and tried to scream but her mouth was covered. She was pulled down into the water and when she turned around she saw Faith laughing.
"Ha! I win!" Faith sticks her tongue out, and smirked.
"Shut up! You scared me! Your so mean" Athena crosses her arms and turns away from Faith.
"Athena I'm sorry..." Faith walks over and hugs her. "Please tell me that you forgive me?" Faith looks at Athena.
"I forgive you Faith." Athena smiles and they both walk out of the water and dry off.

-Second and Final Night-
They put there stuff away in the red lion and got dressed for one final night out. The girls went to a beachside restaurant and watched the sunset while eating ramen noodles. They just sat in silence for a while and smiled every time they looked at each other.
"Hey Faith?" Athena turns her whole attention to Faith now.
"Yes?" Faith asks concerned. "Did something happen?" Faith turns to Athena who had a mite serious look on her face.
"Why do you act all though and heartless around the others but alone your someone else?" Athena asks the question she wanted to ask for a while.
"It's simple," Faith responds, "I was afraid that if I was myself I would be thought less off. That I would be considered weak."
"I guess I was afraid of being myself because of things in the past" Faith looks away not used to telling people this kind of stuff.
"Well you don't have to fear. Me and the others wouldn't change how we think about you. Your like family to us Faith. We wanna see you, not some stuck up heartless monster" Athena smiles and takes Faiths hand in hers.
"Thank you Athena, but for now. I think I want to keep my walls up. I don't feel ready to be myself I guess" Faith looks at her hoping she was okay with her choice.
"Yeah... I understand. And Faith I'll support you no matter what. Okay?" Athena looks at her.
"Alright. Thank you Athena." She smiles and gets up to hug Athena l.
"Anytime, any day." Summer hugs her back and they walk back to the lion, holding hands and smiling. Their two day break from the rest was one short moment they will never forget.
