Cassia and Athena sat in the control room, standing in front of a large screen. On this screen was what could be considered a conference call with the rest of the Voltron residence. The Blade of Mamora (BOM), the rebels/resistance, and some of the planets that joined the Voltron Coalition. They were talking about future tasks and keeping up to date with each other as always. However, today both Cassia and Athena had an announcement. "Excuse me, may we say something," Athena asked casually to the others on the call.
"Yes, your highness?" one of the other members of the call had responded to make sure everyone's attention was on the Altean and the black paladin.
"We have decided to help attract others to the Voltron Coalition, we would be throwing a masquerade ball that anyone would be allowed to attend. And we want to let you all know that you are all allowed to attend if you can find time in your busy schedules," Cassia said politely.
"It would be an honor to attend such an event," said the BOM leader, the others were in agreement saying the same answer however just worded differently. Cassia and Athena smiled and then watched as the call ended. They joined the other paladins to help set up now. A few days after the announcement, the news spread like a wildfire. Then of course when the day of the ball arrived, the castle was overfilled with people whose masks hid their faces. The only reason the paladins could find each other was because they had gotten ready together, or at least everyone but Faith was together. She had left a few days before to go work with the BOM.

The paladins stood at the top of the tall staircase and looked down at the crowd. They looked at each other and then smiled. The paladins had walked into the crowd together as one group and then ended up separated, at some point. However, over time, they were able to find each other, and they all had their moments that night... some more unforgettable than others.

Kayla and Chasey
Kayla walked around, she was lost in the music and had all sorts of people trying to hit on her. Kayla knew she was beautiful and did not need anyone else to tell her that. Yet she did want one person to say it to her, and that was Chase. Chase was near the buffet table where the drinks where. She never really enjoyed large crowds and parties, and truthfully she had just wanted to find Kayla and glue herself to her. So they both moved around and went to find each other in the crowd of thousands. The song Careless Whisper had started as they found each other. Like a magnetic pull, they moved toward each other. Both of them started to space out into a world of their own. Quickly forgetting about the thousands of others around them. Kayla had extended her hand outwards toward Chase, who took it into her own. Then the second the area cleared out they danced. They had forgotten about the world around them fully now. It was just Kayla and Chase. Just the two childhood friends. No, it was just the two lovebirds who took to long to realize the truth. Kayla spun Chase and made it were her eyes never left the shorter girl. She was completely memorized. Caught under the spell of the girl in front of her.

"Your gorgeous.... but you already know that right?" Chase said. Kayla's smile grew, the words she wanted to hear all night being said, literal music to her ears.
"I have been waiting for you to say that since the moment I showed you the dress," Kayla said honestly.
"I know," Chase teased her response, "that's why I waited till now to say it." Kayla blushed and kissed Chase. It was a kiss of pure passion that lasted a few seconds. The song finally ends, and they walk off together.

Lizzy and Levi
Levi had spent a lot of time going around greeting the guests. Lizzy had been behind her waiting for the moment she could steal her away from everyone. "Levi are you done yet?" Lizzy asked.
"Almost I promise," Levi said before going to talk to another guest.
"That's what you said hours ago....." Lizzy mumbled under her breath but continued to follow her. However soon, she just lost interest and left. Levi realized she left shortly after.

Lizzy found herself running to the buffet table and soon found Athena. "Hey, Lizzy...is everything okay?" Athena asked concerned She quickly had started ranting about how distracted Levi was. Athena, even though she was just as sad that the one person she wanted to spend the night with was distracted, did her best to comfort her. Well honestly the two of them just ranted to each other. This made them laugh because they never thought that they would be in a somewhat similar position. They continued to talk amongst each other until a very familiar voice was heard. "Lizzy....I'm so sorry, please forgive me," Levi had run over and she was out of breath by the time she found them. However, Levi knew she messed up and had to correct it. Lizzy teared up a little realizing why Levi was out of breath and nodded at Athena, before running over to hug Levi. She wiped Levi's forming tears, she hated to see her like this.
"Come, let's go have fun and forget about everything. This day is supposed to be full of fun and no tears....no stress....and no panic," Lizzy said holding Levi in her arms. Levi nods and smiles then the duo made their way onto the dancefloor.

Athena and Faith
Athena made her way up the staircase to meet with Cassia. They were in charge of the welcoming speech that always happens when they know all the guests have arrived. When Athena clapped her hands the music seemed to just fade into the background and everyone's eyes fell on the two of them. Cassia looked at Athena with an encouraging smile and decided to let her say the first few words. Athena took a very deep breath before speaking, "Thank you all so much for coming out tonight..." her speech went on and soon Cassia said what she had to. When they were done they received loud applause from the crowd and they watch as everything resumed. The other paladins ran over to congratulate them on finishing the speech they were all too afraid to do. "Good job you two," Chase said hugging them both.

"Thank you guys, please just go have fun," Cassia told them now and a quick as the words left her mouth. Everyone just ran off in their pairs. Both Cassia and Athena stayed and talked to each other. At least until Cassia left to go dance...

Athena stood alone looking for one person who was hidden in a crowd of masked faces. She had hoped that she would have come but, she guessed that she was wrong all along. Maybe the others were right... that's all she thought. They told her she would not come. Fancy dances or large groups was never her thing but what if... Athena kept thinking. She wanted to know where she was. Just for once, she wanted her to be there. "Where are you...?" Athena whispered to herself. Tears seemed to just fill her eyes, after an hour she lost hope and went to the garden. There she found a girl in a red dress along with a mask that only covered half her face. The mask was simple but masked with gold, it looked metallic. On her head was a flower crown with pink and red flowers combined. "Faith...?" the words seemed to just slip from her mouth.
"Hello your highness," Faith said teasingly, with a proud smirk on her face. Athena forgot everything else she wanted to say and threw herself into Faith's arms.

"You came," Athena started to find her words, "everyone said you wouldn't but I and Cassia had faith in you!" Faith seemed to just roll her eyes and moved in to kiss Athena, and fo course Athena accepted the kiss without a second thought. They both danced around the garden letting the faded music be their guide. The doors of the garden where technically off-limits to the guest, so it would only be them. "Your mesmerizing Athena..." Faith said admiring the girl in her arms. Athena blushed and did her best to come up with the best response but nothing. She just kissed Faith again, keeping herself in her embrace refusing to let her go. Afraid that after tonight Faith would just disappear again. They stayed together for the rest of the night. Even afterward Faith had carried the sleepy Athena back to her room. She laid her on the bed and watched her quickly fall asleep. A small smile grew on Faith's face before she turned off the lights and left to enjoy what was left of the night.

Drunk Cassia and Faith
Faith quickly found herself near the bar and buffet table. Cassia was sitting their drunk by now.... she had been gone for a while. Faith was not surprised by this. She was also not surprised by the drunk Cassia flirting with everything and everyone. Most of the guests where leaving and most of the paladins had gone to bed for the night. The last two paladins actually awake where the black paladins, Cassia and Faith.

Faith walked over and took the drink out of Cassia's hand. "Hello--beautiful," Cassia tried to speak without giving away how drunk she was. She kissed Faith on the cheek and tried to grab the drink back. Faith tossed the drink away and into the trash. "How rude... you've always been so mean, so rough...such a tease," Cassia said trying to get under her skin.
"Trust me I know what I am, and I know that you are drunk," Faith started and got up extending her hand out for Cassia.
"Faith! Have a drink! Just relax---" Cassia did her best to convince Faith, she just shook her head. Cassia took Faith's hands now, kissed it, and then stood up. Faith rolled her eyes hating seeing Cassia like this. "Don't take a hit, and don't kiss my lips..." Faith said pushing Cassia away again. Then just to be a bitch, Cassia went to grab another drink and Faith pulled her away
"Your nineteen but you act twenty-five now," Cassia said annoyed but this mature less party side of Faith.
"Take me where the music ain't too loud..." Cassia said now pulling her closer.
"Cassia just calm down...." Faith said trying to remove herself.
"You used to trade drinks when you didn't even know her. You saved me until the party was over. Kissed me in the seat of your rover," Cassia tried to argue back.
"Your real sweet but I wish you where sober..." Faith said now removing herself from Cassia's grip. Cassia looked hurt, so did Faith.
"Faith... I am so sorry," Cassia apologized as she slowly started to understand the situation.
"It's whatever....." Faith said now slowly leaving the room. Cassia got mad at herself and left for her room.

Faith had gone back to Athena's room where she spent the night in Athena's arms. She didn't want to remember what happened.
