It Always Starts Out Fine pt.1

Cassia charged into the room. She had control of the situation and was in charge of the safety of everyone else on the quick resource mission. "Kayla stop flirting with Chase and hurry your ass over to the control tower, take out any guards you bump into," she explained to Kayla while they where all entering the area. Cassia quickly turned to Chase, "Chase go take care of your girlfriend and please don't do anything stupid we have to finish this quickly....also I believe your the only one who will be good with the technology here," Cassia finished and watched them separate are from everyone else.

She then turned to face those in front of her, using her bayard to quickly deal with the Galra in front of her. She continued the last minute game plan, "Lizzy I need you to distract the guards so me and Faith can blow up the door and give you, me, Athena, and Faith access to the prison area. Just be yourself!" Cassia said watching the annoyed and offended Lizzy separate from the rest.
"If I die it's your fault Cassia," Lizzy said before going to mess with the guards.

It took Cassia and Faith only a few seconds to set off the bombs. Lizzy screamed, "NEXT TIME GIVE ME A WARNING BEFORE YOU BLOW UP STUFF IN FRONT OF ME!" Lizzy crosses her arms.
"Stop being such a baby and let's hurry up and go..." Faith said running off.
"Whatever emo!" Lizzy said quickly running to catch up.

The four paladins now split up, Cassia and Lizzy going together in one direction. Leaving Faith and Athena to go in another. The radio chats where quiet and off. The rest of the mission had been discussed prior.

Cassia and Lizzy where in charge of the prisoners while Athena and Faith where in charge are gathering some side information. Everything so far was a last minute change of plans. This part ran smoothly. This part ran by perfectly. This part ended terribly....

(Yes that was intentional before anyone asks you'll see why soon)

Chase entered the radio call in panic now, "We got caught! They reversed the controls and I can't hack the system. We are heading back be careful! And hurry up!!" That was the last thing they all heard from Chase.

Lizzy and Cassia quickly escorted the prisoners onto an escape pod that was set for the castle. "Cassia we are set let's go!" Lizzy said trying to get Cassia to leave, "I promise Faith and Athena can handle themselves this isn't the first time they where stuck on a Galra ship....alone..." Lizzy finished sorta praying this would get her to leave.
"No Lizzy, I have a bad feeling and I have to go after them and make sure they leave now. Please join the others and protect the pods," Cassia said before running off. Lizzy accepts this knowing she really doesn't not have a choice, also she knew that if the prisoners are caught again all of this would go to waist. "God damn it Cassia.... please don't get hurt," Lizzy got onto her lion and left with the prisoners.

Faith and Athena where under heavy fire. Athena has the flash drive that the paladins needed. It had prisoner logs, though they don't know how recently it was updated. The drive also included some rebel more current fighter base locations along with some information on the new weapons the Galras has been working on. The girls looked at each other and tried to think.
"I'm going to rush around and lead them out of the room. So for all they know I have the flash drive... Athena you have to get to your lion and leave," Faith said.
"It's risky but I know you've done worse. However this doesn't mean I approve," Athena said trying to find a easier way.
"We can't leave that info, if the info on Chase's dad or anyone from the old fleet is on there we can get one step closer to locating the Rebel Fighters," Faith said mostly thinking about the outcome.
"Fine, meet me at my lion in ten minutes, I want to make sure your okay before we leave. I won't take any risk," Athena said, Faith just nodded.

Silence fell amongst the two, then Faith got up and dashed out of the room. Athena left once she knew it was safe. Faith was well aware that Athena could defend herself so trusted that Athena would not get caught. There was a lot of running and some sword play during this. But all games come to a end when somebody gets hurt....

Faith made her way into a room to find Cassia who had been fighting all on her own for a while. "Cas...." Faith didn't feel like talking and cut herself off trying to deal with the remaining Galra. A few more moments of the annoying back and forth then, Cassia's bayard went flying across the room. Cassia looked over at Fait, then she ran. Faith finished up her area and raced after Cassia.

Silence and stress. Stress and then a gunshot. More Stress and then another gunshot. Just Stress and now pure panic. Faith raced through the hallway to find Cassia leaning against the wall out of breath. She was clutching her waist.
Faith looked around, they where alone. "I'm sorry, I should have left like I was supposed to," Cassia said.
"Shut up and let me help you," Faith said. She sat Cassia down slowly and removed both hers and Cassia's jacket. Faith lifted up Cassia's shirt and did her best to clean the area before using what they had to cover up the wound. Faith wrapped her jacket around Cassia's arm that was also shot.
"Faith...." Cassia tried to remain calm but the situation was not helping.
"I'll wash it later, also I don't think a leather jacket I going to help with that..."
Cassia slowly got up and Faith helped her. She heard footsteps and then saw Athena turn the corner and run over to their side.
"I heard gunshots and came running... Wait!?! Your paladin armor! And Cassia! Faith what happened?!?!"Athena was worried and panicked.
"I can explain later but for now we have to get Cassia back to the castle quickly. Athena nods and the three of them make their way toward the lions.
They got closer, things were going smoothly.
Things where going perfectly....
Things where going alright, until there was a random beeping. It got louder and faster the more they ran, Faith realized the situation. She located its source.... she located the bomb.

Faith ran faster and pushed both Cassia and Athena out of the room closing the door behind them. The beeping stopped.
Everything was supposed to go smoothly.
Everything was supposed to be perfect.
Everyone was supposed to leave okay.
Everyone was supposed to be unharmed.
Everything and everyone ended up in pain. This all just ended horribly, just like she said...

The bomb had went off. Athena and Cassia felt tears forming in both of their eyes. They looked at each other and both got up ignoring their pains and breaking into the room. Faiths helmet laid on the floor it's screen cracked, Faith laid on the floor underneath the flooring off the ships level above them. Athena and Cassia removed the stuff from Faith who was basically covered in ashes, dust, rubble, and mixes of blood from herself and others.
