PART TWENTY-TWO

Scarlett Finney's POV

I grabbed the box and walked to my house.

"Are you sure, you don't want me to help?" Stephen asked.

"I will manage. Anyways, you need to go fast, Chris will be waiting. Bye, Stephen." I said and opened the door holding the box hoping it won't fall.

"Bye. Take your time. I will be back to pick you up."

As I walked in, I kept the box in my bed and walked to the dressing table.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I was a complete mess.

"What am I going to do now?" I sighed looking at the gift box.

Katy!

She could help me. I dialed up.

"Katy? Are you busy?"

"Nope. You know that I am not. I left the hospital early." She said.

"Great! I want you to be here. In fifteen minutes. I would be in the shower. So just get in." I said.

"I will."

I just dropped the phone on charge and barged inside the bathroom grabbing a towel.

I heard a knock in my bathroom door. I stopped the shower for a moment.

"It is me." I heard Katy voice.

It was just five minutes. I didn't know she was this much free.

Her house was just around the corner, seven buildings away.

"Coming." I said and continued my shower.

I draped the towel and walked out.

"What is with the wet and sexy?" She asked as I walked to the dresser to dry my hair.

"It is Chris. He invited me for an Awards."

"Businessman of the year? He missed it last year." She said as she sat on the bed.

"You know so much about him." I asked looking at her. "How come?"

"News, baby. News! Update yourself."

"Yeah, yeah."

"What is in this box?"

"Dress."

"Oh! He got you a dress? Can I open it?" She asked.

"Of course. Why are you asking?" I said and dried my hair looking at the mirror.

"Wow!" I turned to look as Katy held the dress at her shoulder height and dropped it to the whole length.

As I looked at the dress, I smiled. I couldn't hide myself smiling.

"Why are you blushing?" Katy asked.

"Blushing? No, I was just smiling. I just..." I tried to correct her.

"Relax. Relax." Katy said and gave me the dress.

I kept the drier down and went to change. As I came out,

"Now tell me why were you blushing?" Katy asked.

"Katy, you ask too much. Just help with this." I said as I was troubled with the buttons in the back.

"I'm still waiting." She said as she started to button.

"I wore a similar dress, one day in Iowa. He remembers and got it designed. Nothing else."

"Mr Christopher Rodriquez is quite impressive. And..."
