PART FIFTY-SEVEN

Scarlett Finney's POV

I sat in the room with Olivia by my side.

"You are getting late, Angel... Where is Rose?" I asked her and then called Rose. Rose walked in and took Olivia with her. I heard Olivia's voice from the corridor.

"I am going to school... Will you be here when I come back?" She asked.

'Who is she talking to?' I wonder and walked to see Olivia, Marlin and Rose at the corridor.

"No. I have a flight. I am leaving now. I just came to talk to you and Sky." She said and hugged her.

"Stay here! This looks just like your house." Olivia said. Marlin looked around, holding Olivia in her arms.

"It is... But I should be there right? Who will take care of that house then?" She asked and Olivia nodded. She kissed her cheeks and let go of her.

"Study well and take good care of mom and dad. Okay?" Olivia nodded with a smile. She walked away and Marlin kept looking at her till she vanished out of our sight. She then turned towards my room and noticed me standing there. She smiled and walked in.

"I should leave, Sky. It's getting late..." She said and I nodded, looking down.

"Sky..." She called me and held my hand. "I understand a lot of things have happened... He has gone through a lot... All I can say is take care of him and your family." She said and placed a hand on my belly.

"Can't you stay back? Please... At least for a few days?" I asked and she looked at me.

"I am kind enough to shut my mouth but not that generous to forget what I have been through without him... I need time, Sky!" She said. I didn't know how to argue with that.

"I'll leave then..." She said and kissed my forehead. "Eat properly. Be safe, okay?"

"Yes." I said and she walked, only to turn back.

"If possible, come there for the vacation. The whole family will be there." She said and I smiled.

"We will definitely be there..." I said and nodded.

I walked her down till the door. She didn't say anything to Chris. She got in the car and I waved at her. The car moved away and I turned to look at Chris who was standing at the door.

"I told her everything..." He said and I nodded.

"She didn't speak a word after that..." He said and I wasn't surprised.

"Well, she did tell me to come for the vacation next time." I said and a smile climbed the corner of his lips.

"Huh?" He looked at me and I shrugged.

"I mean, she didn't tell you... So, I guess I will go alone." I said, teasing him. He hit me on the shoulders and dragged me inside the mansion.

Chris slept for a while and Olivia left for school. I sat on the bed scanning through the journals and not finding anything interesting except the man sleeping next to me.

"Argh!!" I cried internally.

His phone pinged and he woke up looking at me staring at him. He gave me a weird glance and then took his mobile to check the time.

"Why are you staring at me?" He asked as he scrolled through his phone

"Why not?" I asked and he threw his phone, pinning me in between his arms.

"Chris..." I shreiked.

"Scarlett..." He said. That was the most seductive way I have ever heard my name...
