The Foreign Alpha

The pact

"Avery, Where the hell are you, the leadership meeting is about to start", I heard Matt through the mind link.  

"I'm on my way...almost there", I replied annoyed by his tone, he's always trying to boss me around, he is the Beta of our pack, but I only take orders from Shawn that is our Alpha, and not even him sometimes. 

My name is Avery Franco, but everyone calls me and knows me as Avery Escobar, which is my mother's maiden name; Franco is the sperm donor Aka my father, who I don't know but hate; since I was 14th years old and found out how I was conceived, that's enough reason for me to hate him with all my soul. 

I don't know why I was called to this meeting, I'm in charge of the training of warriors together with Matt, cuz I'm the best fighter after Shawn, we are best friends too, but I don't have an actual ranking on the pack; my mom is the Luna of our pack and will be until Shawn finds his mate. She is human, one of the few humans we have in the pack, so I'm half-breed but still I'm as strong as a pureblood wolf, as strong as an alpha.

 "The alpha and all leaders are here, everyone but you!!!, why do you never take things seriously?", he scolded me. 

Oh, My Goddess!!!, I internally groaned, "Chill, I'm at the door already", I groaned at him meanwhile I got into the office, where Shawn our Alpha, pack doctor Liana, our former alpha Rafael, Matt, and our 3rd in command Jose, were gathered, as soon as I entered, I glared at Matt "Sorry for the delay alpha", I told Shawn while getting in my spot.

 "Now that we are all here, we can start", Shawn announced to all, while giving me a disapproving look, "As you know we have incredible, brave, and well-trained warriors, mostly she-wolves, however, the amount of werewolves is less each year, this because for the last 10 years for every 5 births only 1 is a male", he made a pause, "so I decided for the good and safety of our pack to do a pact with our neighbor: The Blood Diamond pack. They are going through the same issue, but the other way around they have more werewolves than she-wolves", he stopped talking when disapproval growls started to sound, but nobody dared to say a thing, "an exchange", he exclaimed. 

"What do you mean for an exchange", I asked him raising my eyebrow and my voice at him; I saw through the corner of my eyes that Rafael (our former alpha and Shawn's dad) shake his head while smiling. Rafael knows me since I was in diapers and knows I love to challenge Shawn, that I'm stubborn and speak my mind before even thinking about the consequences, getting in trouble for it most of the time. 

I really like Rafael, he has always been nice to me and treated me kindly, even with preference, he raised me as his own pup, from the moment my mom and he found out were second-chance mates.

 I was about to object again when Shawn spoke again, "I have not finished talking Avery, so I will suggest you keep quiet and let me explain to you all", he said a bit angered, "Within a week timeframe we will receive 50 unmated werewolves that will look for a mate in our unmated she-wolves or female humans, 25 of those 50 that can find their mates here, will stay to protect us and to be part of the pack, while the other half will go back to their pack with their mates, we will..."

 "ARE YOU SAYING YOU WILL FUCKING TRADE YOUR OWN PEOPLE, YOUR PACK, FOR FUCKING STRANGERS? JUST TO HAVE MORE MALES!!!!... LET ME REMIND YOU THAT PACTS WITH FOREIGN PACKS DIDN'T WORK IN THE PAST, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK WILL WORK THIS TIME? UH ALPHA", I growled, yes my wolf is loose and officially I'm in trouble, again.

 Suddenly, the desk floated through the air and hit the wall hard, while Shawn started to walk towards me, He does look dangerous, and everybody submitted to him immediately, but I keep my head high, and judging by the black pitch color of his eyes is Amos his wolf, not Shaw,  I can feel his anger, "SUBMIT, I will only say this once" he warned me, but being the hard head I am, I didn't, so, he charged against me, grabbing me by the neck and stamping me like a sticker to the wall, he did it so hard that I felt the air leaving my lungs and my head bounced making me see stars but recovered immediately to grab his wrist with one hand and his black T-shirt with the other, displaying my fangs defyingly. I know, I know I have a death wish or something, but I don't approve of this decision, I hate foreign people, I don't trust them; they will never be good to our pack, I have a really bad feeling about this exchange, I have no mate and I don't want a mate and less if it's a foreign asshole.

 Rafael moves it toward us and Shawn immediately warned, "Don't interfere, father, I will not tolerate disrespect, she has to submit to me" he warned Rafael.

"So, you will kill her then? You will kill your best friend just because she doesn't agree with you? She never submitted to you when she doesn't agree with your decisions, nevertheless, has always been loyal to you and follows you no questions ask no matter what... Besides you know I cannot let that happen, Carmen would kill me if I do", Rafael tried to light up the moment.

 "Please submit, you are turning blue" I heard Matthew say through the mind-link.

 So, I released my grip from Shawn and I submitted, immediately he let me go, making me fall to the floor breathless, "Get up", he commanded and I did. 

"My apologies alpha", I said to him, but we both know is not a sincere apology, nonetheless is enough for the rest to take as a submission. 

"As I was explaining, we will receive the 50 warriors within a week, during the day Liana will run medical checkups, while Matt, Avery, and myself will train and select the best 25, those who will stay with us. Friday at night, a bonfire will take place where all unmated females must be present, once the bonfire is over the Selected ones will stay and the others will leave with their mates, is that clear?", he asked with his alpha voice looking at everyone but leaving his gaze on me.

 "Yes alpha", was the unison answer. 

"You are dismissed", Shawn finished, so I turned on my heels to try to get out first but he stopped me, "all, but you Avery".

Dammit, I was not fast enough...
