The Ceremony

Now I know why they need a stadium this pack is huge, that is why they are the strongest and powerful pack of the kingdom, are the ones in charge to protect the king's lands of any surprise attacks, and notify the guard to secure the palace.

There was a front line of chairs for my old pack girls and my seat was the last. They were all there already I was the only one missing.

On the stage was the alpha family, the beta, and the 3rd in command, Derick stood up to start the ceremony, he looks handsome with his long-sleeved shirt and white pants, exudes confidence and power, I know he is upset still because not even once his gaze has set on me.

'I must be crazy if I'm trying to run away from him', I thought

Derick started to speak to the crowd, "Tonight we become stronger", and a loud sound of howls was heard behind us, "Tonight we become one and only", he continued, "We received 12 new members to our pack, who will represent us proudly, who will honor our traditions and laws because will be theirs now", another loud sound of howls and claps were heard, "Tonight we will open our minds and our connection to them forever and the 1st to become part of the Blood Diamond pack is your Beta female Sky Miller"

She stood up proud, but I know she is nervous, as anyone could be if you are going to go up to a stage in front of so many people.

Sky reached her place in front of Derick and bowed her head. He took a small knife and made a cut in his hand and I immediately stroke mine because I felt the pain of the cut, he must have sensed it as well, because turned to look at me at the same time, how incredible is that even when we fight like cats and dogs our connection is so strong that we can feel each other pain?.

He turned to see Sky again and smile at her. He stretches his hand to her request for her hand, she obeys and he cut her hand too, I saw Sebastian breathing deeply, I bet it hurt him more than what it hurt her.

"Sky Miller, do you swear loyalty and honor, serving as the beta female of the Blood Diamond pack, from this day until your last day?", He asked her.

Without hesitation, she responded, "yes, I swear", and they hold hands for a few seconds, once they let go of hands the crowd howled again. Sky didn't return to her seat, she took her place on the stage next to Sebastian she officially is the beta female of this pack, she's smiling from ear to ear, she is happy and I'm happy for her.

I'm never been the nervous type, I'm more like the type that starts the revolution... but this!, Doing this will let him see me, my thoughts, my fears, he'll see how I feel for him.

One by one the other 10 girls passed to do the acceptance and my anxiety started to increase, then it was my turn.

I heard Derick call my name without looking at me, "Avery Escobar", I couldn't move and the crowd stood quiet when they saw I was not walking to the stage or even standing, I swear I heard people starting to whisper, I gulp, he finally turned to see me and sighed but called me again, this time I stood up and started to walk to the stage, I stop halfway and took a look around, I seek for Sky and she was looking holding her breath and mouthed, "don't you dare", I shook my head trying to dismiss the fear and started to walk again.

'Is this really what you want for us Moon Goddess? we cannot even stand each other', I silently ask, knowing that I will not be answered.

I reached my place in front of Derick, we are face to face, but again he was looking without seeing me, I lowered my gaze. He stretched his hand as he did with the rest, I did the same, he then took my hand and pull me to get closer, surprising me, then he caressed my cheek and whispered, "I'm sorry and I love you, don't be afraid, one shot is all I ask, trust me", he didn't give me the chance to reply anything and kissed me, I forgot about the world around us, what we were doing or should be doing, was just us and nothing more matter, I corresponded his kiss, he broke the kiss and pecking my lips one last time, I release a shaky sigh.
