Boot camp!!!

Is Tuesday morning, just 4 days before the exchange, Shawn called us for another meeting "I called you because there's a change of plans", he let us know while placing a letter on his desk, I noticed was from the Blood Diamond pack because of its seal, nevertheless didn't interrupt I just kept listening, "the Blood Diamond wolves will be here 1 day earlier for the training and selection, so Friday they'll train with us the whole day and Saturday just half day, the bonfire will start early at 6 pm" 

"Where they will stay?", Jose our Gama asked

 "The packhouse, of course", Shawn answered without giving it a thought.

"There's not enough space at the packhouse", Jose replied, "we can try to host around 30 of them there, but not the rest", he paused, "Maybe if you ask Alfa Rafael and Luna, and the other leads to host the rest of guests for the night, we can make then fit", He suggested. 

I saw Matt getting in, is weird he is never late, I see him explaining to Shawn the reasons through the mind-link. 

"I don't think is a good idea to host so many wolves in the packhouse, which by the way is full of girls, what if any of the girls is on heat? That is a disaster waiting to happen", Liana the pack doctor brought the topic to our attention, "and particularly I will not offer my house either, I have a teenage girl, I don't think will be appropriate".

 "Boot camp", I yelled, "sorry", I apologized to Liana while she rubbed her ears with her hands, "What about using the field near the river as a boot camp? In the night we can set a couple of tents for them to stay", I shared the idea, "of course we need to stay with them, to ensure no one goes near to the pack before the bonfire", I finish to share my idea.

"That is a good idea", Matt agreed and I frowned. Well, that's a first, Matt rarely agrees with me, "I will notify 15 of our warriors to go with us and stand guard", he suggested. 

"Ok, Jose, you will stay in charge here, Matt and I will go to the training field and stay overnight", Shawn starts to instruct us, "Dad, you will help Jose in case he needs it", turning to Rafael, who nodded his head in understanding, "Liana, there's no need for you stay over the night, you can go with us Friday morning, run all test you need and return here Saturday morning I want the results, ok?", He said to Liana.

 "Yes alpha" she was her response. 

"Well, that is it, you can continue with your day", he dismissed us. When everybody was gone Shawn gave us the final instructions, "Matt, Avery, we'll leave at 5 am Friday to receive them at 5:30 am", he told us. 

"I didn't want to ask you in front of the rest, but why the change of dates? Does it have to do with the letter?", I asked pointing to the letter that now is in his hands.

Shawn let out a sigh, "Nothing escapes you, right? But yes, has to do with the letter, the alpha and beta decided to come to the exchange as well, so I requested one more day of training to have a better selection, and they accepted, we will receive the warrior's 1st, the alpha and his beta will come directly to the bonfire and agree to leave 40 wolves instead of 25 as we agreed first, if, they find their mates", he finished. 

"Well, that is good news, right? we will not lose our girls, they will stay with their families in the pack, awesome!!!", I acknowledged, "One more question, Am I having my own tent or will I stay with you?", I asked Shawn.

 "You're not staying the night", he responded 

"Why? aren't we training on Saturday as well?", I asked 

"Yes, we are", he mumbled while searching for something on his desk.

 "So, what sense has that I go, come back and go again?", I inquired."I cannot take the risk, 1 girl and 50 unmated wolves in one single place", he pointed the obvious.
