Is an Order

Everybody rushed to leave the office, and a minute after only Rafael, Matt, and of course, Shawn were left there with me, not that I'm afraid of Shawn, but I know that will be a punishment for defying him in public. 

"Are you stupid or what, what the hell you were thinking to speak your alpha that way?", Matt growled directly at my face.

Before realizing it, I hit him across the face so hard and fast that he fell to the floor, he stood ready to fight me, but Rafael stood between us, "Why do you always try to make her submit to you? She barely does with Shawn", Rafael gesture him with the hand to move back to his place again, I smirked. 

Matt went back to his place but didn't seat he stood tall while his fists clenching and unclenching in anger, "I'm Beta of this pack, she owes me obedience, she does have to submit to me as well, she has no rank on this pack", he yelled. 

I will not deny that hurt a bit, he is an idiot, but, we used to be good friends before he took his role as a Beta, I think his title when over his head. "With a rank or without it... half-breed and all, I can still beat your sorry ass, I did in the past, I can do it now, bitch", I reply getting myself in a fighting position.

 "I said everybody was dismissed but her", Shawn finally spoke, " Matt, don't you forget your rank as well". 

"Take that bitch", I mocked at Matt through the mind-link making him growl at me and just gave him a devilish smile.

 "Good, let's go", Rafael commanded Matt

 "This is not over", Matt threaded me through the mind-link

 "Anytime you want", I replied, he walked past me with a smirk on his face. 

I turned to Shawn waiting for him to speak but he just sit and squeeze the bridge of his nose, letting out a sigh before he started, "I understand... why you do not agree to this pact... but, I will never let anything like that happen again", he search for my eyes, but I was staring to the window, "our pack needs this, many of our she-wolves leave the pack and land just to try to find their mate, look at yourself", he said and I frowned turning my gaze to him, "you are almost 21 and still unmated, there's no enough wolfs".

 "Who said I want or need a mate?", I throw the question to him, "What if I'm the mate for any of them, would you let me go? Your best fighter and friend?", By this time my voice was almost breaking and I hate to show weakness. 

He let out a sigh again, "No, is arranged, all high ranks will stay with their packs and you are the only woman on this list of high rank, so no, you will not leave. You may not want a mate, but the other she-wolves do", he tried to make me understand

I let out a deep sigh of relief and understanding this time, "Thank you, and I'm sorry for what happened, was not ok for me to defy you like that, you're right I can't speak for the rest of the females".  

He laughed shaking his head, "Well is not like I'm not used to you defying me, but please not in public, Amos was not happy you did it in front of all leaders, he needed it to put you in your place".

 "I know and I'm sorry, I lost control of Maya too and she spoke", by the way, Maya is the name of my wolf, she is the one to blame when I get in trouble. 

"When will you stop blaming me?", Maya scolded me

 "Never", I replied to her with a laugh.

"Ok, now that we clear the waters, back to the business", he said placing back his desk in place, there was a knock on the door and Shawn granted permission to get in.

 "Ok, the wolves will be divided, Matt and Avery 15 wolves each, I will take the remaining 20, and we will train them on body-to-body combat, human and wolf form, check their abilities with bow and arrow, and finally sword, I want only the best of the best so select wisely" we both nodded in agreement. "Avery you will be in charge to notify all unmated she-wolves and human females, let them know about the pact and the bonfire, as well advise them, I want every one of them on their best behavior and well dressed" when he saw my face when he spoke the finished the last sentence, he added, "including you and that is an order", I rolled my eyes at him."Matt, I already notified the rest of the pack through our mind link but humans don't know yet so inform them about it", Matt bowed his head was about to turn and leave when Shawn spoke again, "no you're not leaving yet, moving forward I want you to get along, this fight between you two is getting old; you two need to make peace, now!", he said looking both of us, before I could protest, he was out of the room. 

Silence, that's all we have had for the past 15 minutes since Shawn left us in the office, this was getting annoying."Why do you hate me?", I dare to start, "We used to be good friends, and suddenly you started to look down on me, always rubbing at my face that you were the beta, just to be clear I know you are the beta, knocked off already", I said to him looking directly to his blue eyes. 

"So, you do know a higher level than you? Yet, you never submit to me", he said giving two steps toward me, "correct, we use to be good friends but that changed long ago, accept it already", he said leaning towards me, I raised my head more to the point we almost touch our noses.

"accepted, asshole", I replied. I was turning around when I felt his grip on my arm spinning me again to face him, I was about to yell at him when his lips crashed on mines while he held me close to him with one hand on my neck and the other on my waist.

"Damn, I didn't see that one coming", Maya whispered. He is a good kisser, so, I began to answer his kiss, this was new to me, I mean I have been kissed before, but I never kissed Matt or wanted to kiss him before either, as Shawn said this fight was old, I found myself raising my hand to his blond hair grabbing it with strength turning our kiss more passionate, and without hesitation, he lifted me off placing me down to the desk, he stopped and peck my lips once more, we look each other breathless and with swollen lips.

 Silence.... we stood in silence again
