"Well, well, well... that's why you fight so much, ha?" Shawn's voice sounded and I turn to see him standing at the door with a stupid smirk on his face, "I would have appreciated you told me, I'm your best friend and alpha after all" he continued almost laughing, while I was back on the floor and three steps away from Matt, "so the enmity was all do to sexual tension?", He points out smirking while I sighed. 

To be honest, I always find Matt's bad boy look attractive, but I also know better; he is a major player, not lasting even a week with the same girl. So, I never let my curiosity for him to arise until this moment. Matt started to laugh as well, "what? This!", He replied pointing his finger between him and me, "is nothing, I just was testing little miss 'I don't submit to no one', show her that I can make her submit to me whenever I want to". 

I felt my face drop in shame when I heard that fucker say that to Shawn, I disguised immediately. Shawn stopped laughing immediately and I saw him getting mad, Matt can be his beta and best friend, but Shawn and I were raised as siblings, so before he say anything or do anything to Matt, I spoke to Matt first, "Is a shame that after having so much experience kissing Shawn's ass, you really thought that what just happened, was me submitting to you", I slowly replied looking him head to toe and laughed hard, "FYI, I was expecting a way better performance on your end", then I approach him and gave him a tap on the shoulder, "what a pity", and then I started to walk out.

I sense his anger lift up and I was glad for it, exiting the office I went directly home and blocked Shawn who was trying to check on me. I was not hurt at all, I didn't feel something for him it was just attraction, the heat of the moment, and even if I would have felt something else, I'm not willing to let anyone walk over me. "Hi Mom", I shouted from the door.

 "Kitchen", she yelled back. I got into the kitchen and all my senses were overwhelmed by the exquisite smell of the food she was preparing, "I'm making pasta with Alfredo chicken"

 "Yum, yum, what are we celebrating?", I asked, because honestly don't recall any important date. 

"Do we need to celebrate something for me to cook your favorite pasta?", She asked faking hurt with a hand over her heart and I know a request comes soon after that melodramatic scene.

 I rolled my eyes at her, "ok, I will believe you". 

"Ok, I want you to take care of your brother on Saturday, Rafael and I want to go for a 2 days vacation to the beach and I want alone time with him if you know what I mean", she said without the minimum shame.

 "Mom!!! I do not need to know that, goddess!!!, Besides I can't next Saturday we'll have a bonfire for a neighbor pack, Shawn just notified us, so probably Rafael is going to cancel you as well, can you believe he already ordered me to be there, sorry I can't", I said to her, stealing a piece of chicken. 

"Hey, stop that is not ready", she yelled while pecking my hand with the spoon, "dammit!!, What was the meeting about then?", She asked not fully paying attention to me, but as soon as I explained everything, she was upset, she was fully focused on what I was telling her about the pact. 

"What's going to happen if you find your mate?", My mom asked concerned, I told her not to worry and explained what Shawn promised me but she was not convinced, "what if the rank of your mate is higher than yours? Like a beta or the alpha, itself?". I started to laugh holding my stomach while hitting the table with my hand, not very ladylike, but when I saw she was serious, I try to comfort her.

 "Mom, really don't worry, that's not gonna happen". She just smiled at me, but I know she was not at ease with the whole thing. "I need to go to notify all females of the pact, I call them to a quick meeting to explain, I'll be back by dinner, ok?", She nodded but I know the hamster in her head is running and thinking the worst.
