Chapter 11 ~Beaten her at her own game.

Jenna's standing there making sure I knew she was narrowing her eyes at me. I don't even know anything of her accept her first name , which I learnt just now. I've never even spoken a word to her.

After that weird weird encounter ,we all got our stuff and I rushed to first period , It was english. I was in a world of my own writing down notes when the teacher called on me to answer a question. I literally froze , I hate speaking publicly even if it's just answering a question.

"Awh do you want me to hold your hand so you can answer?" Jenna laughed , so did the whole class.
This is why I hate public socialisation. Now it was my turn to narrow my eyes at her , the topic we were focusing on we'd already completed back in England so I knew the answer. "No but thankyou for the kind offer Jenna" I chuckled to myself "what about you Jenna? Do you need a boy to come over to make you feel less insecure or are you finally ok with being independent?" The whole class laughed again , she'd gone silent , I usually don't answer back but I was not gonna let her bully me or make silly comments and get away with it. I answered the teacher confidently and with that Jenna just sat back in her chair and carried on doing her work. I'd beaten her at her own game. It felt good.

By the time it was lunch I was exhausted. Jenna didn't make any other comments accept make the odd glare now and again. What is her problem? I got my food and oddly I saw Ida sitting at the table with Mattia and his friends. She was eagerly chatting to them and telling them jokes she seemed to click with them just like that, I was happy about this because all my friends I've made are already friends and theirs no conflict anymore .
     I saw lily and waved her over , it was one of her first days here. We went and sat with the group that had already sat down , I sat next to Mattia because every other seat was taken accept two seats , and I'm sure lily didn't wanna sit by someone she didn't know. I mean she was sitting next to someone she didn't know either way but I knew Mattia so I just happened to sit there.

Mattia introduced me to his friends , sitting next to ida on the left was a boy called Alejandro the boy on the right of Ida name was Robert, two seats down from me was Kairi who lily was sitting next too. They also mentioned they had two friends Alvaro and roshaun who just moved to Florida.
Time flew and the bell went and it was time for class again.

It was finally time to go home , it's been a hell of a long day oh my god. I offered to give lily Ida and mattia a lift home. They all agreed because a car is better than walking in this cold weather in December. I wouldn't say it was cold , but it was cold for people we weren't used to that temperature. I put my Spotify playlist on and me ida and lily were singing along like a bunch of idiots. Mattia just sat in the front laughing whilst he recorded me which I didn't mind. He posted a 10 second video of me driving and singing on his Snapchat story. I didn't really mind that either , on social media people could hardly get to me but people in real life were a whole different story.
I dropped ida and lily off first and mattia last again it was just pure coincidence that I 'forgot' where his house is.
We joked around for what felt like ages , I made sure not to go hella fast because as soon as he got out of the car I'd feel cold and empty again. His warmth wouldn't be surrounding me.
Then he had to go. We'd reached his house. He told me to text him when I got home and waved goodbye as he entered his front door , about 5 minutes after going as fast as I could still doing the speed limit I reached my house. I walked inside and huffed.

"Everything ok emery?" My mum asked.

no mum , you see I was humiliated in class but it's fine because I humiliated her back , I've got loads of homework. Im really stressed and yeah life isn't the best.

"Yeah , I'm fine I guess." I couldn't hide the frown on my face , it was like it was permanent.

My mum just nodded knowing I probably wouldn't talk about it until I was actually ready to so she came over and gave me a hug. A big big hug that ever since I can remember has been able to calm me down and reassure me that everything's going to be ok. Even the smallest things like not understanding a question on my homework , she'd come over and give me the biggest hug and help me with it. I definitely won in the mother department. The father department was not a win but it wasn't a loss. We moved to New Jersey so we could be closer to him for his job. But he's always on business trips , I've seen him once or twice whilst I've been here.

I smiled at her and ran up to my room instantly taking my phone out of my bag so I could message Mattia as I'd promised.

Emery : hey I'm home!

Mattia : finallyyyy , what took you so long? :(

Emery : my mum wanted to talk to me about school nothing big.

Mattia : everything ok? Oh my god your not moving already are you?

I could feel the panic coming through my screen as he sent the message. Aw

Emery : no I'm not moving school , she wanted to see how I was getting on that's all :)

Mattia : ok phew I was worried for a second there😂

Emery : don't be I'm not going anywhere🙃

We talked for what felt like hours, we helped eachother with homework for the majority of that time. Once the call had ended I finished off my homework , had my dinner ,chose my outfit for tomorrow and headed to bed. Wow surprisingly I was actually going to sleep at an appropriate time for once. Shock.

This is the sound I was constantly hearing as I was waking up. I had my notifications off .What's happening? I lifted my phone to my face suddenly getting blinded by the brightness. I turned the brightness down and IT'S 4AM! I then saw the messages that were coming through.
