I look in the corner of my eye at Alejandro and notice he's stiffened aswell. I reach under the table and grab his hand which eases both of us instantly. I nod my head to Alejandro to tell him that we were gonna have to tell them.
How did she figure it out?
I took a deep breath and said "I mean..yeah I guess we are together." I held my breath waiting for the reaction.
Emery's eyes light up as she says "see Mattia I told you! Didn't I say that I thought something was going on between them two!" A big smile spread across her face as she clapped her hands , Mattia looked at her in complete awe, whenever Emery is talking to someone or is just doing anything , Mattia looks at her like she's hung the moon. Ever since emery's first day they've had this unexplainable chemistry. He wraps his arms around her waist and buries his head into her neck as he says "yes your very smart em" she giggles as she looks over at me and Alejandro, "awe I'm so happy for you!"

Most girls back in Birmingham would've absolutely gone mad if I never told them about it straight away.
But Emery isn't most girls.

A month ago I wondered if I was ever going to find someone who made me feel like Emery does. Now I look back at life before Emery and wonder how I got through it without her. Ever since that first day when I'd met her she was just....perfect.
Yes she was clumsy that day. She had many other accidents like it too. But whenever I'm around her I don't feel as tense as I usually do, seeing her smile makes me smile. Her smile is the best thing ever.
Before Emery I had focused on one girl in my life.

But that's the first time I've said her name since I've met Emery. The first time I've thought about her. Wow , so much has changed.
It's the end of the school day and me and Emery are getting into her car when her phone rings. We sit in the car as she searches in her pockets for her phone until she finds it , she looks at the screen and frowns when she sees who's calling.
It's her dad.
You know , the man who doesn't want any male near his daughter.
Yeah.
She answers it and I kinda zone out of the conversation because it's her business.
A few minutes later she puts the phone down , I look at her and see the worry in her eyes.
"My father wants to meet you." I tense but immediately relax again because I need to be calm , I can't make her feel any more nervous than she probably already does. I grab her face in my hands and give her a kiss before telling her it'll be fine. We head down to her house and it feels like time is not on our side today because it feels like the ride was 1 minute long when it really wasn't and now we're here on her driveway. We both step out of the car and I walk to her side and grab her hand and give it a reassuring squeeze, we walk up to the door and Emery opens it with her free hand. Her dad , who was walking down the stairs , stops , tenses and looks at me like he's trying to figure me out. He looks at our intertwined hands and glares. Emery's already seem him too by this point , she looks panicked but she calms when I squeeze her hand again.

The meeting with my boyfriend and my dad did not go well. No their wasn't a fight or anything but my dad glared at Mattia the whole time. Thankfully my mum was there to stop my dad from saying anything. My dad needs to understand I'm not a little girl anymore. It was so awkward I can't even explain it. I would've absolutely gone off on him then and there for not making my boyfriend feel welcome but I didn't wanna start anything in front of Mattia. My mum was an absolute gem through it all though because she has manners and isn't controlling. She's met Mattia before but obviously I wasn't in a relationship with him then.

Mattia's mum came to pick him up later on and I kissed him goodbye as he left. I stood by the door until he was out of sight and I walked back in , shut the door and took my invisible mask off that hid what I was really feeling.

Anger.

I stomped back towards the living room where my parents were , my dad had a big smirk across his face. He wanted to make Mattia uncomfortable. My mum on the other hand was trying to hide the frown that was appearing but I knew my mum and I knew that she was ashamed that my father wasn't as welcoming.

"What the hell was that?" I said to my dad with a deep scowl across my face. His smirk still visible as he looked up at me. "What was what Emery?" Oh woooow. "Wow dad. You really expect to act like that to my boyfriend and get away with it? I don't think so. Yes you may be my dad so don't waste your time ranting about how I'm supposed to respect you and not answer back because firstly you are hardly ever here! Secondly I'm capable of handling my own life , I mean this may come as a shock to you but I'm 16 I don't think that screams 'I can't look after myself'. Mattia probably knows me more than you do! You spend more time on those countless business trips than with your own family. You know when you arrived back here I was so happy because I never see you. But now why don't you just go plan another business trip because to be quite frank dad , I don't even wanna look at you right now." I'm out of breath as I finish my rant towards my dad , he looks utterly speechless. His face paled. I don't let him speak before I rush up to my room and lock my door. I text Mattia to see if I could sleep there because I just couldn't bear to look at my dad right now. He couldn't even treat my boyfriend with respect. Mattia said that it would be ok and I look down to remember I'm wearing his hoodie...whoopsie hehe.
I gather my clothes along with my makeup and all the essentials. I also take my shampoo and body wash with me because It's a crucial thing.
What? It smells nice.

I tell my mum I'm sleeping at Mattia's which she gives me the ok to because unlike my dad. My mum actually trusts me. I get my school bag and my overnight bag and take my keys and head out of the door towards my car.

As I arrive there and get out if my car I see Mattia open the door and run down the steps and engulf me in the best hug EVER.

It's about 10pm now and me and Mattia are watching the originals like we always do. We've made out a couple times whilst watching it I'm not going to keep that information from you because I'm just so lovely.
We ended up falling asleep in each others arms like we always do , think I may aswell just move here cause I'm literally always here.
That was a joke.
I always say this but If I could , I'd stay in his arms forever. No questions asked.
