Quick note, a lot of what's going to happen in the chapter answers many questions from The Blonde Archer, people who haven't read that book will be confused.

Alec

The next morning was hell.
The entire pack was bustling about getting everything ready for the royals. Royals, can you believe it, my sister, the one who prefers running through mud and rolling down ice hills is going to be a princess. Mated to a prince, I am so proud of her, so proud, she was destined for great things but prince or not, he can expect me to whip his ass into shape if he steps out of line just once.

Despite me saying I am happy for my sister , I didn't miss the sad looks I got from so many of the pack members. Many of them expected me to find my mate first, being the oldest as well as the next alpha, a lot of the pack memebers are scared , they assume I will be like my dad and not have a mate. Nor produce a true blood heir.

A few of them did have hope, they did believe that I will find love , like dad, and then everything will be complete.

"Alecander."

I turned around to the direction my name was called, only a few ever called me by my full name, dad did, mum rarely but most of the other alphas did to.

"Alpha James," I walked over with my hand outstretched, " it's great to see you again," I add as I pull away from our man hug.

"Where is your companion, the boys did tell me to greet her on behalf of them."

I smiled as I thought back to the time Rojo and I were with uncle James. That moment confirmed that we both we supernatural. That was also the same time I felt this uncontrollable jealousy when Derek tried to flirt with her , " I'm sure that's what Tyler told you to do, Derek definitely said something dirtier."

Alpha James chuckled and then looked at me expectantly, " so where is she?"

"We parted ways in Spain, I needed to return home." I answered.

"And?"

I stared back at him, not really certain what more I could say. " that's it, I don't know where she is now." She honestly could be still in Spain, maybe traveling the world, going to Africa for fresher biltong.

"So you just let her go? Alone?"

"I left her the keys, to the car so she can get wherever safely."

Alpha James laughed, it was definitely more of a mocking laugh, " forgive me Boy, you left her, the royal wolves were after her and you just left her."

"If I carried on running around with her, I would be disrespecting our king and if you haven't heard Alpha, my sister is a princess now." I lie straight through my teeth.

"And this has nothing to do with the short brunette searching the pack for you." James spoke up his eyes trained behind me, immediately I turn around to look in the direction his gaze was set in , but Becca was not in sight. " you left her for Rebecca Stride."

"She wasn't anyone to me, a girl I picked up on the road, I grew up with Becca , she is one of the most important women in my life." I replied getting defensive at James tone.

"You are make a grave mistake. You can never have Becca so why's the hell are you throwing yourself at her constantly while leaving the actual precious things." He shouts, his voice causing the trees in the area to tremble.

"Alpha James, if I may say, I am to be an Alpha, you are on my land. Do not raise your voice on me." I spoke calmly my eyes trained on the sky above me, and my hands pushed into my suit pants.
