Chapter 3- A Little Team Building

After Y/N set out on her own adventure, she's been defeating gyms here and there, and she's been updating her team as well. Her Ralts evolved into a Kirlia after pulling through against the Cyllage City gym leader. Y/N also made Eevee hold an Everstone, to decrease the chances of her evolving before Y/N could really decide what she wants her to evolve into. Espurr has been very hardworking lately, being the ace in many battles. Currently , she's on her way to face the Lumiose City gym, coming from her Coumarine gym battle against Ramos.

"C'mon Kirlia, Lumiose is up close." Y/N said to her partner pokemon who was walking slowly behind her. 'Kirl.' her Kirlia said stopping for a breather. "Alright you drama queen." She said rolling her eyes, and picking up Kirlia and placing him on her shoulder like when she was a Ralts. "Kirlia, once you're a Gallade, I won't let you sit on my shoulder anymore." Y/N got some sort of whimper in reply from her partner, and she couldn't help but chuckle at her pokemon's behavior.

Y/N would continue walking, but would be stopped by something popping out from the ground. "Oh my Arceus-" Y/N exclaimed, wrapping a protective arm around Kirlia, who was still on her shoulder and was about to fall off from shock. Y/N looked at what just popped out from the ground, and there she saw a small Gible staring right at them. "Damn, I'm not some dragon tamer like Raihan, I have no idea what to do." Y/N mumbled to herself thinking about her distant friend.

'Gib! Gib!' The Gible cried as it looked at both Y/N and Kirlia as if it was challenging them. "Kirlia, I think someone here wants to battle." Y/N said to her partner who seemed to be thinking about the same thing. The wild Gible nodded, showing that Y/N understood what it meant. "Gible, if we win you're going to become to new member of this team! Do you accept?" Y/N pitched stepping farther away, preparing for battle. The Gible nodded stepping a bit back, prepared as well. "Right, Kirlia, let's go get ourselves a new team member!" Y/N said hyped up, sending Kirlia out on the battle field. Gible started with a Dragon Breath, and the battle begun from there.

Meanwhile in Galar...

"Raihan, it's time to eat!" Leon shouted out to his rival who was just a few meters away from the tent, training his pokemon. "Be right there!" Raihan shouted back, returning all his pokemon except his Flygon and Duraldon, who followed behind him suit. "Leon, you should really start training! The sixth gym is coming up soon, and my team isn't losing!" Raihan said returning to the camp, where Leon finished making curry. "Well, I've been busy making our curry, but that doesn't mean I won't train extra hard as well. Don't you remember the promise the terrific trio made before we separated?" Leon replied, pouring curries into bowls. "NEVER give up, and ALWAYS stay strong no matter what." Raihan said twirling his hoodie strings. "Well we never replied did we? Or maybe we've just been busy training." Raihan added, looking at his rival. "I do feel guilty for not writing back Raihan, you're not the only one. But I'm sure she's also been training for whatever gym challenge they have over there." Leon replied, handing Raihan a bowl of curry.

They both ate in silence after that small arguement they had. "Hey, Raihan." Leon said looking at the dragon tamer. "Yes?" Raihan replied, finishing up his curry. "When Y/N comes back to Galar, let's suprise her with how strong we're gonna get. Her Gallade won't stand a chance!" Leon said enthusiastically. "A Gallade aye? Let's show each other how things are done!" Raihan replied. The two rivals high fived each other, and continued their journey.

Let's return to Kalos!

"Kirlia, let's end this! Magical leaf!" Y/N commanded Kirlia his last move. As the leaves hit Gible, Y/N pulled out a pokeball from her bag pocket, and threw it at Gible. The pokeball shook three times, and the button turned green, showing that she has officially caught Gible. "We have a new member of the team!" She let Gible back out and welcomed him to the team. "Welcome to the team, Gible! Let's train as a team to become the new Kalos champion. Are you alright with that?" Y/N asked picking up the new member of the team. Gible nodded rapidly and happily, and nuzzled Y/N in appreciation for his new trainer. "I'll make sure to train you extra for the next gym, electric types can be quite difficult to take down sometimes." Gible let out a loud 'Gib!' Jumping up to sit on Y/N's head. "Well, I guess we're settled! Come, Kirlia." Y/N said picking up her partner and placing him back on her shoulder.

"I think we're going to ace this gym challenge, boys." Y/N said confidently to her two pokemon. "We just do A Little Team Building. Now to more training, and Lumiose City we go!"
