There was an overall look of disgust that the pair received when they faced their wealthy audience. One boy had the nerve to exclaim "Are you our source on entertainment for the afternoon?"
After the pair took their seats, they were constantly ridiculed by those around them. Attention-seekers, homeless freaks, irrelevant and drug-dealers were only some of the names they were called on their trip around the mansions and fame. However, is there was anything they hated being called it was...
"On one side there's a slut and on the other, there's a priss" one smug rich kid commented, causing a few of her friends to laugh at the girls.
Layla clenched her fists and Lily placed her hand onto one of them. "Don't. It's what they want"
"Why not give it to them?" Layla replied through gritted teeth.
"Because they already have everything. Besides, it's proof that they're insecure" Lily giggled a bit.
Layla smiled and giggled along with her. Since it was winter and the sunset earlier than usual, Lily peered out the window out of curiosity. "Girl, look"
The girls turned to find an ombre of hot pink and purple partially scattered in thin, fragile clouds. They couldn't take their eyes off the view. However, they smiled. "Still not better than out sunrises" Layla commented and Lily nodded in agreement.
"If you girls really want to explore, I suggest getting off here" the driver exclaimed from his seat.
The girls thanked the bus driver and got off the bus. Spotless pavements surrounded them and picket-fenced mansions to their left and right. Lush green bushes perfectly placed between each fortress, separating them. There wasn't a homeless person in sight. They walked, taking in the sights of the world they always knew existed. However, they didn't feel out-of-place at all, opposing what they thought would happen.
"I wonder if these guys ever considered what our side looks like," Lily asked, causing the both of them to burst out in laughter after a slight pause. There was no way in hell that they would care about people like them, especially considering the perfect life they lead here.
"Maybe they might look down on us or something" Layla shrugged. Suddenly, Lily linked arms with her and pulled her towards a nearby park. "H-Hey, what're you-
"Just wait," Lily said before pulling out two cans of spray paint from her bag. "Wanna make some art?" she asked, a devilish smile on her face.
That'll show 'em...
Layla nodded vigorously and took one of the cans, shaking it as she thought of what to paint. The two colours that they had were purple and red. Surprisingly, they went together well against the pristine white background. "What to write...?" she thought out loud.
"What about... 'Look, we made it'?" Lily suggested.
"Nah, something that'll make these twats think about all the shit they have" Layla corrected.
"Well, that means we have to think as well. Honestly, Layla you have to make everything so damn-
"Wasteful" Layla cut her off.
"No, that's not what I was going to say. You can write that and I'll write-
"Riches" Layla cut her off again.
"Okay, now you're reading my mind"
When they were done, Lily had one more idea before they went. "Stand against the wall and strike a pose" she suggested, mimicking a camera with her fingers.
"Why?" Layla asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Just do it" Lily groaned.
Layla shrugged and stood with her back to the wall and her arms folded. Lily smirked and took the red paint that Layla was using, walking towards her. "Also, close your eyes and hold your breath".
