Although Jessie did go to the nurse's office because she kept being sick, she found a much bigger problem there than anywhere else. What was more shocking were the irony and the danger of the situation. As you might have guessed, Daisy Green and Jessie Lightwood had to meet at some point.
The appointment was... strange to say the least. Miss Green did the routine check-ups, ignoring the obvious burning in her hands. Jessie stared at her, wondering when she was going to try and kill her. As the nurse typed on her desk computer, Jessie continued to burn her eyes through her skin, trying to read her.
"Right, you do have a stomach virus, but-
"Let's just cut to the chase, Miss" Jessie cut her off. "We both know that only one of us will leave this room alive. I know for a fact that it's me so just do us both a favour and swallow some strychnine".
Miss Green was silent for too long. Then she started laughing. A lot. "Don't be so prideful, Jessie! We'll have a fair fight and-
"Hey. I said to swallow the damn poison" Jessie's eyes flashed purple as she grinned at the woman.
Daisy suddenly stood up and began looking through the medicine cabinet. Although this was a school, there was a bottle of strychnine in the cabinet. She strained her movements, her teeth gritted. "H-How..."
"Listen" Jessie read her nameplate, sitting up in the bed. "Daisy, or whatever it was, you know about this powers stuff, right? Good. Be a big help and kill yourself. Trust me, it's best for both of us"
Daisy stopped, the laughing from before returning in small giggled. "You really don't get it, do you?" she softly said.
"Hm?"
"You don't understand the bullshit I've been through. My old 'friend' calls me telling me I need to kill a kid to make sure he stays rich. No matter what happens, I'll die anyway since I know too much" Daisy explains, tightening her grip on the bottle of strychnine.
"Why should I care?" Jessie asked, looking down at her nails.
"You should care because it means if I'm going down, you're coming with me" Daisy's mind was acting on its own. Her body obeyed Jessie's brutal strength and popped the bottle of strychnine open.
"That's pretty unlikely considering what you're doing right now. Don't try and fight it, that just makes it more of a drag" Jessie scoffed.
"Aren't you confident? Maybe you should test the amount of arsenic in your blood before saying all that" Daisy shoved the deadly poison down her throat, smiling at it crawled its way into her stomach. "Me? I'll die faster since this is a lot stronger than that. You? It'll take a while. I'll be dead by the end of the school day. Expect to be gone by tomorrow morning. You can go back to class now" she calmly said.
Jessie was in shock. She was going to die by tomorrow morning. There's no way her pride would let her tell the others so she decided to keep it quiet. Sneaking out of the building, she texted Chase saying that the nurse sent her home.
Strolling through the streets, she came across her grave in the graveyard. Which shocked her since Chase told her that he reburied them when they came out while she found a house to live in. The graves still looked the same as when the demons brought them out. As if on cue, Layla texted her:
M8, u ok? We need to talk about something.
Layla saw the graves undug. Sloth is the reason why this stupid team of hers will fall six feet under, again. No way was she about to let that happen. There had to be something she could do. Boss promised her a seat up there with him if she did this right. Jessie -no, Pride- wants her goddamn recognition more than anything. Screw the others. Fuck Chase. It was about time Jessie had some fun before she died. Looking around, the sirens looked awfully... exciting to her for some reason.
