With her music blasting into her heard, Layla took the short journey to the bus stop that morning. She was going to call William but it would be useless. His parents probably track every little thing on his phone, she realised.
On her way there, she looked to her right to pass by a graveyard. This one graveyard serves the whole city so a lot of people were buried here. Now, some of the graves had to hold more than one person due to the lack of space.
However, even though the graves looked like the road during rush hour, there was something off.
Two of the single-body graves looked like they were... open? Layla stepped over the small fence of broken wood and flowers to get a closer look. As she went closer, she realised that the burials were recent. Assuming that some creepy grave-robber took them, she began to walk away. But the names of the deceased stopped her.

She froze. There's no way this could be possible. Actually, a lot of things shouldn't be possible but the horns vibrating warm in her skull reminded her that it could be. Taking a quick picture of the gravestones, she jogged off.
On the school bus, she got Lily to sit next to her and showed her the photo.
"Wait, so their zombies?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"These demons raised their bodies from the literal grave. So, yeah. Demon-possessed zombies" Layla explained.
"If you think about all the other shit we've gone through, that isn't so bad" Lily shrugged, turning to look out of the window. The event that took place between Lily and Jasmine rang in her mind. "Hey, Layla?"
"Hm?"
"I did it"
"I know. The real question is with who"
"No. I mean, I did it" Lily, for the first time in forever, had a serious tone to her voice.
Layla looked up at her. "Ok, now I'm confused. What did you-
"I killed Chastity, Layla. She's dead in the damn bathroom stall" Lily cut her off, covering her mouth as she realised she was right. It does sound much worse when you say it out loud.
Layla stared at her with wide eyes. "Woah. You're the first one with the guts to go for it. Nice"
"Nice? How the fuck is that nice?! Hell, she was probably innocent if it wasn't for that angel bullshit! I'm a murderer. I'm a god damn murderer" Lily's voice broke.
"Hey, think about it this way. If we all get this done, those rich twats won't have anything on us!" Layla said excitedly.
Lily just stared. "What? What's wrong-
"You, that's what's wrong. You're fucking insane"
As the two got off the bus, Lily physically stayed away from Layla. For some reason, she didn't mind. After all, Lily had already achieved her goal, so why bother? Layla was one step closer to getting what she'd always wanted.
That lunch, the group met up once again to discuss their... achievements. "I've already dealt with Diligence. With both her and Chastity gone, it'll be a lot easier for us" Chase announced, not too loudly though.
