It wasn't only Class C that decided to pair people up for educational purposes. Due to William's grade getting extraordinarily better, other classes decided to repeat the same experiment. Rebecca's class is one of them. Since her result was, to be honest, a complete fail, she was paired up with the smartest kid in her class.
"Becca, you coming to lunch?" Jessie asked as they walked out of class together.
"No can do. I have to meet up with some guy from my class to study. Like what William and Layla did together?" Rebecca explained. "Also, don't call me-
"Alright, Becca. Don't get too smart" Jessie joked before semi-skipping off to the lunch hall.
Rebecca swore at her under her breath before heading off to the library. She couldn't bother to remember his name but only remembered what he looked like.
"Skinny, tall with straight black hair and rectangular glasses. Light blue shirt with rolled-up sleeves and jeans" Rebecca verbally reminded herself.
When she caught sight of him, she walked over and sat next to him, peering over at the English Language textbook in front of him. "So, are we starting or not?" she calmly said, expecting him to be startled by her sudden appearance.
"You're late. I don't really appreciate tardiness" he commented before opening the textbook. "Let's start with your memory with quotations"
Already annoyed, she took out her phone and began to scroll through social media. "Well, you'll be happy to know I never bother to remember quotations. Like you, they're useless to me"
He took a breath. "If that is the case" he sighed before taking her phone from her hands. "It might be because of this"
"Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing?!" she exclaimed. She never liked when someone took something that was hers, especially her phone.
"You should always use things in moderation. Not too much, not too little-
"Listen, whatever the fuck your name is, since when-
"My name is Jason King, if you don't mind" he cut her off.
"Well, Jason. Unless you want me to give up on this tutoring nonsense, you'll give me back my phone" Rebecca threatened.
"Do you want to fail again?" Jason warned, raising an eyebrow. He took her silence as a 'yes'. "Right. Now, let's start with-
"Hey Jason, what's going on?" Jackson cut him off.
"Jackson, I'm surprised you're here. Considering your usual schedule, you aren't here that often" Jason said, smiling slightly.
For some reason, it made Rebecca's heart jump a little.
"Considering how smart you are, I'm not surprised you're teaching someone else. Speaking of which, who's this cutie?" Jackson winked. It didn't even look flirtatious, just kind.
Rebecca was about to answer but Jason was too quick. "I'd hate to dampen the mood, but if you're going to talk to us at least drop the 'kindness' act"
"I really don't get what you're talking about" Jackson raised an eyebrow.
"How about I make it simpler for you to understand, but not too simple. Drop the act and leave us alone. In terms of significance, education beats being nice by a landslide" Jason calmly said.
It was like he knew what Rebecca was thinking. Her heart began to flutter, reaching up to her mouth. She was almost about to reveal her feelings while his back was turned. However, she swallowed her emotions just as his galaxy-dark eyes met hers.
