The next day at school, Layla, Lily, Jessie and Chase met up outside the school. They had their usual outfits on that day but Lily decided to steal one of her mother's leather jackets and match it with black shorts. With a white shirt and white trainers, she really brought out the bad-girl aesthetic within her. That morning, the twins continued to ask why Lily changed he style so much.
"C'mon~ there has to be a reason for this!" Chase exclaimed.
"What did you and Layla do? Better question in my opinion" Jessie squinted her eyed at the girls slightly.
"Just something special. Hey, Apex is in your form, right?" Lily asked, linking arms with Layla.
"Yep. This'll be fun"
Except it wasn't fun. Layla sat in her usual seat with her beanie low over her forehead and avoiding eye-contact with most if not all people. Wondering why the hell she was here, her thoughts were rudely interrupted by the classroom door slamming open.
"You bitch! You're the one who vandalized the back of my mansion!" William Apex yelled, storming over to Layla's desk and towering directly above it.
"Did you read what it said?" she calmly asked, not looking up at him.
"Why should I?! You-
"Then there was no point in me doing it if you weren't gonna read it" she cut him off.
"Oh really? Well, what exactly did it say that was so important?!"
"It said exactly what your side has: 'wasteful riches'" Layla stood up, looking William in the eyes. "You rich pricks didn't deserve that money. You could at least try to share it out, but no. That's too hard for people like you, huh?" Layla's voice steadily grew louder.
"Why, you little-
"I'm not fucking done! You spend your entire goddamn lives in those stupid mansions with your luxury-ass not caring about us! You heartless pieces of shit all deserve to rot in hell! Maybe that'll be the only way you realize how people like us feel every fucking day!"
There was a silence. William walked around so he was now behind the desk right beside Layla, glaring down at her as she glared back up at him. In a flash, the sound of a harsh punch echoed in the classroom. Layla clutched the side of her face as she forced the tears to remain in her system.
"Maybe this is when you will realize that you are not worth what you are given. Tell your whore of a friend that joined you in your crime the same thing" William walked back to his seat and sat down, feeling somewhat good about what he just did. For just a moment, he understood how his parents felt every time they hit him for doing something wrong. Instantly, he pushed out the feeling.
For once, the rest of the rich kids didn't surround William. They didn't even murmur about him in his presence. Layla staggered to her seat, the burning hatred for William rising like a forest fire. She realized that he was nothing like the rest of them. He was much worse. He was given everything he wanted for so long that for something to go wrong would cause him to lash out. He was the human form of anger, she mentally concluded.
"Hey, girl! So, what- oh my god" Lily rushed to her bruised friend and placed her hands onto her face. "Did he do this?!"
All Layla could do was nod. Jessie and Chase soon caught up with the story and, they too, felt the same anger as Lily.
"He actually punched a girl in the face?! He's not right in the head, he is!" Chase exclaimed.
"I guess that's what money'll do to ya" Jessie slowly shook her head, her hands tightening around her folded arms.
"I swear, I'll rip that son of a bitch to shreds!" Layla threatened through gritted teeth, trying to hold back her cries as she lay in Lily's arms. "Who the hell does he think he is anyway?!"
