Carla walked in to Ming's house with Earth, carrying a bag of food. It had been ten days since funeral and the pack house had been drowned in silence.
She walked towards Phana and sat next to him, "they knew what will happen", she tried yet again to console him.
Phana only sighed, as he continued to hold Irin who had finally drifted off to sleep after crying her eyes out in her brothers' arms.
"there was no other way" Carla said, as Earth dragged out Posh from his room
"Why didn't anyone warn us?" Ming gritted his teeth.
"Kimmon... you of all people should understand the consequences of such powerful spell"
"I am Ming" he said, "Ming.... who in this bloody life seem to be losing one parent after the other", he shouted as he walked away.
Kit sighed, he could understand the guilt Ming was going through, but he could do nothing to console not just his lover but also his friends.
Beam had just kept closer to Phana, who had remained extremely silent, not speaking a word unless necessary, since the day his parents died.
Carla sighed and got up, "Am leaving food in the fridge anyways"
"I will take care mom" Beam said softly, as he walked towards his mother. For some reason she looked fragile, and he was worried.
"Earth" Beam called "take care of them for me"
Earth smiled softly "You know I will", he then turned towards his friend "Phana... you can't shut us out. Neither can Ming... you know it is bigger than all of us"
Phana only looked at his former vice captain and nodded.
"I understand you need time" Earth said softly "but that is the only thing we can't afford"
Kit sighed and got up, "let me get Ming" he said in general not waiting for an answer. But Phana got up saying "allow me" as he laid Irin gently against the sofa.

Ming sat on the ground his back rested against the giant sycamore tree in their backyard, tears streaming down his face.
Phana just sat next to him and leaned against the tree as well.
"So, Ming not Kimmon huh?" he said softly, as he took out his phone.
Ming didn't respond, but stayed silent
"They raised me as their own, to a point that even after learning about my own parent's death I didn't feel a bit of hurt" Phana continue "that guilt made me hurt them more....", he ran his hands threw his hair "i hated them for not telling me about my past"
"and to think I avoided them because they hid the truth that will give me only pain me...." Phana sighed, "I am more guilty than you think you are Ming"
"It is not a competition" Ming snapped
"No, it's not" Phana said "but you know what it will never leave but I am going to keep the promise I made to him... not as a repayment but as their eldest, as their son"
Ming turned to look at Phana, his expression hurt and confused
"We both are similar in some of our own ways" Phana said softly, "neither prepared for the responsibilities shoved on us"
"why do I keep losing family?" Ming said finally "Why, me?..... Why Us?"
"I don't know" Phana answered "but we still have family in there, all I can think of is how to keep them safe"
"I have no idea, I feel so.. er" Ming struggled to finish his sentence
"Lost?" Phana sighed "I do too"
"What do we do Phana...." Ming turned away looking at their pack-house, their home
"trust our wolves for now" Phana said, "the fact that Kimmon is giving you time to sort out your confusion, tells a lot. It's the same with Pha"
"Hmmm?" Ming turned to look at where Phana was pointing.
"Tee and Nila" he said with a soft smile "are constantly bickering with them, but in the end looks like they get along well with Beam and Kit; but you and I..."
"I know" Ming said softly "we don't connect"
"Hmmm" Phana sighed
"It's not that I don't trust him" Ming said "but... there is something"
"In the end all four of us want the same thing... we want them" Phana pointed towards their home "to be safe and that bitch to pay"
Ming just nodded in agreement
"that cannot happen if we don't take care of ourselves" Phana said
"You are the one to talk" Ming said, a small smile breaking on his face "when did you last eat?"
"I don't know" Phana agreed "but let's go now, I don't want them to worry and come drag us in" he said, as both Beam and Kit together stepped out, their expression solemn.
Phana got up, gave one final look at Ming before walking back towards Beam.
Kit just stood there waiting for Ming to join him, his expression soft yet firm.
"I don't know who I should be more scared off" Ming got up, his heart a bit light compared to few hours earlier.
'Definitely our mate' Kimmon answered for the first time in days, causing Ming to smile.

"WHYYYY?" Maeve threw her out her hands the force of which broke every single thing and the stone walls of her cave.
She paced in front of the foggy mirror violently as she yet again failed to unveil the wards that covered the packhouse.
"How can those mundane witches be stronger than me?" she shrieked, her scream resonating within caves, making all demons and Azure's hide from their mistress's fury as she walked out.
"Are you shielding your minions..... Bitch?" Maeve asked no one in particular as she stepped out in the open.
"still don't have what it takes to face me directly?", she scoffed "you always hid behind your guardian didn't you, using the words of destiny"
Maeve laughed, when there was no response "I will crush everything on this surface", her dark aura extended as the entire clearing became nothing but dead grounds, smell of decaying flesh filling the air "there will be nothing left to remember you"

"This is your final battleground" Kit woke up startled, having watched the entire scene unfold in front of him as a movie, he quickly scanned the room only to find Phana and Ming eating while he was standing midway between the Kitchen and the hall with a tupper-ware of food in his hands.
"What is wrong?" Ming quickly looked up
"How long was I out?" Kit asked in confusion, when Beam and Wayo quickly rushed to his side
"What do you mean?" Beam frowned "You were just getting more meat for Posh", by then Ming was next to him, with his hands around his mate.
"Was it her?" Ming asked, but it he knew the answer for Nila and Kimmon connected instantly "What did you see now?"
Phana and Forth watched with hawk eyes, as Ming helped Kit to take a seat. All three girls looked worried, as his pale face slowly gained its color back.
"Your spells work brilliantly" Kit finally managed to say to Jihyo and Jisoo, he took a deep breath "but she is pissed, she just destroyed everything, and I think I saw the place where we are supposed to end her"
"Hmmm" Ming only nodded
"I saw the place, it was not the same cave whereshe was recuperating, it was not near that giant Oak nor the clearing... but it was still familiar"Kit tried to explain, he finally looked at Phana once before turning his faceto look into Ming's eyes "She is coming for Jihyo and Jisoo"
