Chapter 51

Tul promptly tackled Forth to ground before he can run through the magical dome that was keeping them safe.

Phana and Beam stood frozen as they saw Wayo's figure crumble into nothing in the air.

No one had paid attention to Wayo amidst the commotion, he was one of the oldest warriors next to Guardian and White Wolf, he was supposed to be indestructible despite his cute looks.

Forth sat down, his eyes as cold as hell, had trusted his best friend to follow him. His mind was distracted looking out for Irin and Jihyo who were already inside.

Kit silently walked toward Forth and hugged him, not saying a word.

"Let's walk east" Max said, wanting to put some distance between the Azures and themselves "it may not hold for long"

"Yes" Ming said, breaking Phana and Beam out of the trance, while he continued "Irin – you need to phase, you need to start trusting her more"

Irin only nodded, as she wiped the tears of her face.

They all knew the dangers, the risks involved yet to lose one so quickly none were prepared. All three Fey's and Kimmon walked in the front.

Pha and Nila, followed them, at the end leaving the rest walk in between them. Nothing but silence followed them as they walked away from the sun.

"Let's camp here for tonight" Nila sensed Tee and Lia, Irin's wolf get tired. Jisoo was already sleeping on Pharm, Posh's wolf.

"Stay in your wolf form" Kimmon said, earning a nod from Pha "Max and I will take the first watch"

Pha rushed to Tee, "Are you okay?" he nuzzeled his nose into Tee's fur, softly licking him. Tee didn't answer but instead just whimpered and moved in closer to Pha.

They all huddled closer to each other, their stomachs growling but they had lost all their provisions earlier by the shore.

Pha cast a worried look towards Kimmon, but couldn't say anything. He was feeling the grief of losing his pack as it was a physical pain, he pushed it down only using sheer will.

"Is this how you feel to?" Pha mind linked with Kimmon

"I feel it during unnatural death of every wolf, fey or human" Kimmon answered, "anyone who are part of my pack"

Pha fell silent after that, he slowly rested his head over Tee' neck in a meek attempt to keep him warm.

"Do all fey vanish like that, into nothing?" Lia connected with Nila "that's not fair"

Nila let out a quick bark, "Later", she knew Forth and the winter fey's could hear Lia.

"But it is fine" Tul answered her out loud "It is better than being forgotten, where we fade – neither dead nor alive"

"Am sorry" Lia quickly apologized

"It's our way of life, every fey – summer or winter knows it, we have accepted it" Tul said with a soft smile his eyes on Jihyo's tearful gaze that seemed to be fixed on Forth.

"He will not be forgotten" Forth said "and he was happy, after he joined your pack... he said he finally found a place where he belonged after so long"

Pha turned his head to look at Forth, as he continued "In case, I don't get a chance – I too felt like I belonged somewhere after a long time when I met you guys"

"Rest for now" Kimmon said, "Pha, I will wake you up in couple of hours"

Everyone fell silent after that, none of the Fey's nor the older wolves slept even when they had their eyes closed.
