Eva's POV

I giggled as I looked at Rush trying to climb a carriage but failing so miserably at the task. I could not believe he was scared of horses.

"Please come down." he begged sweetly.

"But I want to ride this." I whined, "You just need to climb a step. Come on."

Rush tried to climb up again but the horse suddenly turned its head a bit sideways which made Rush jump back so hard that I was left gasping for breath while laughing.

I sighed in exasperation and came down from the carriage. The fun was obviously over.

Rush immediately came back to me while saying, "Hey, you do not have to ruin it because of me." he bent down his head and kissed my temple softly, "Sit inside. I will be right behind you."

I shook my head in denial and took his hand in my grasp while smiling, "Don't worry about it. It is no fun without you."

His face fell in disappointment, "I am so sorry for this. I just can not seem to get over my stupid fear. I am ruining our date night aren't I?"

"Of course not!" I assured him. The panicked and upset look on his face was definitely not what I wanted to see.

I stepped closer to him and kissed his mouth lovingly while staring into his eyes. Once I pulled back from the kiss, I stayed close to his warm body while my hands rested upon his chest.

"You are with me." I smiled up at him, "You made me fill my tummy with so much delicious food. You made me laugh with your beautiful memories and jokes. You even showed me how much you love me by never removing your loving gaze from me for even a second. How can I be disappointed, baby."

Even though he did not say a word, happiness instantly filled his face after hearing my words.

Sometimes, you have to keep reminding your loved ones that how much special they are and how much they are appreciated for all the love that they shower upon you.

And Rush to me, was my whole fucking world. How could I not show him how much he meant to me.

"What do you want to do next?" He smiled and rubbed his palms over my arms, soothingly making me lean into him.

Just as he stopped speaking, a loud yawn left my lips.

"Just need home." I said softly.

He hugged me even more tight and pulled me away to his Porche to take me home.

**

I woke up with a start. I was being moved somewhere. I panicked for a second but then settled immediately after realizing that I was in Rush's arms, getting carried over somewhere bridal style.

"You should have woken me up." I whispered. I was still trying to push back the sleep from my mind and my eyes but it was taking over me very fast.

"Hush." He responded and gently kicked the door open after unlocking it with the key in hand, "Go back to sleep, baby."

I did not object. I was way too sleepy to think about anything else.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" Rush snapped loudly in anger suddenly.

The sleep immediately left my eyes and I opened them to see what had happened.

At first, the only thing I saw was Rush's jaw but then when I turned my head to look at the opposite side, all the breath inside my lungs came out in a harsh, panicked breath.

"What is this?" I whispered.

In front of me, my whole home was laying ruined to dust. The furniture was broken. The windows were shattered. The cutlery was laying on the floor in pieces.

In short, a total hell.

I pushed at his chest a bit and dropped off his arms to stand on my feet. He let me off but did not remove his arm from my waist.

I tried to take a step forward but he immediately grabbed me from behind and stopped me from moving further.

"Stay with me." He ordered. I had never seen him this much serious.

I did not actually have any other option than to follow him. And to tell the truth, I was not even that much stupid to start wandering around the assaulted house alone.

On the other hand, my heart was breaking.

I had come to call this house my home. With Rush and me, the memories had started to fill in with good ones.

Even though it had not been too long since I had moved in, still it hurt me. Bad.

I looked beside me at Rush who was staring at everything while moving with me door to door inside the house briskly to see if the assaulter was still here. There was no remorse or sadness on his face.

Once we had gone through the whole house very thoroughly, we came back to stand in the hall.

"I don't understand." I said, sadness was covering every word that came out of my mouth, "Why would someone do this? Who would do this?"

Rush was staring down at his feet. His jaw was clenched shut tight in anger. At my words, he sighed in annoyance and shook his head in frustration.

"Hey.." I gently soothed him and moved closer to engulf his face in my palm, "It's okay, baby. Don't be upset. We will make it alright again."

He did not reply for a few seconds but then blew out an exasperated sigh and leaned his face into my hand.

"This is our home." he said. His every word was full of fury but his eyes were closed,

"I have spent my childhood here. I have lived years and years of memories here. And suddenly someone has ruined it all. There is not even a scent or trace of them to track."

I rubbed my thumb on his cheek in gentle circles in an attempt to soothe his pain. But I knew that there was nothing that I could do to make it alright.

"I am going to kill him." Rush suddenly snapped and started striding outside with my hand clutched in his own protectively.
