"What is wrong?" I immediately sat straight in attention, "Is there any attack on the pack house?"

"No." Aster replied before calming down a bit and sighing heavily, "Elders got the hint of what happened at the pack. They heard what Marcus had done so they sent two members of the official alpha council here to inspect everything. And as they say, they are going to be here for a while."

"What the actual fucking hell." I growled angrily. But then my attention immediately went to Eva who had shuffled away from me in fear.

I had yet to learn to control my wolf in front of her. I kept forgetting she does not know about wolves.

Calming myself down I gently extended my hand towards Eva for her to approach. She took in hers but very hesitantly but that was enough for me to calm down.

"I am coming." I said on the phone before cutting the call.

"We have got to make one more stop." I said to Eva before turning the car on and driving off towards the new pack house.

Aster had also made the decision to move the Pack house elsewhere. She could not handle staying in the same house that had snatched her innocence and surrendered her to brutality. She wanted a new life with her human mate and she was trying to build that day by day.

Once we were at the packhouse, and got off the car, I extended my hand to touch Eva's cheek softly while muttering, "Stay here. I will be back in no time at all, okay?"

She nodded her head in acceptance but the doubt and defiance in her eyes gave away the inner storm swirling inside her.

Stepping a bit closer to her, more than the space a normal friend or best friend would have ever taken I grabbed the back of her head and smiled assuringly, "I will be here in no time. Just take in the scenery till then I guess or just roam around. But please do not go far."

She smiled half-heartedly and nodded her head. I did not have any choice than to leave her here. I could not take her in front of Aster. Seeing Aster may spark the bad memories trapped inside her head and it may prove dangerous for her. I could not take any risk when it came to her and Rush.

Pulling her head down for a quick kiss on her temple, I turned around and rushed inside the house to see what the hell Aster was going through.

Eva's POV

I leaned against the car while sighing heavily. The day was about to come to the end, the sky had already started to turn dark. I always got scared in the dark.

I was tired but could not let it show on my face in front of Liam. He was doing so much for me. How could I take advantage of any of his generosities.

"Hello, you." A male voice snatched my attention.

My gaze slowly started to take in the man standing in front of me. His gorgeous grey eyes were staring into mine fixedly while he put his hands in the pockets of the track pants that he was wearing.

His bronze, chiselled chest glistened brightly, giving a very clear vision of his eight pack abs and flawless skin.

"Hi." I mouthed with no sound and immediately straightened as an uninvited flush of shame crept up on my face and stayed there, making me realized I suddenly had a bad crush on someone.

"Are you familiar with where you are?" He asked while arching one of perfect eyebrows while his grey eyes stared down at me with a little smile on his face.

I frowned at him, confused and then a bit offended instantly.

When I did not reply, he titled his head to the side and stared at me fixedly for a while.

Frustrated, I touched my face to see if there was something funny stuck there.

Finding nothing there I lifted my gaze back to find him smirking at me.

"Adorable." he commented right before he flicked my nose with the tip of his index finger.

What the fuck was that?

I blinked hard while trying hard to hide the blush on my face.

"Why are you standing here alone?" he asked.

I looked over the beefy man's shoulder to find Liam but he was nowhere.

Pulling the phone out my packet I typed quickly, 'Waiting for a friend' and handed it to him.

He looked down at the text and asked gently, "You... you can't talk, sweetheart?"

I shook my head in denial then immediately looked away so that I would not have to see the look of pity in his eyes.

"You are still adorable though." I heard him say. And then before I knew it, he had me wrapped into his arms while he dragged me inside the house, "Come on, we will have some wine and a date."

What now?!

I struggled a bit and stopped immediately but he grabbed my hand in his and grinned, "Come on. I am not going to kiss you just yet, adorbee."

Adorbee?!

Before I could even fathom the words coming out of his mouth he dragged me inside the house. And since Liam was already inside the house, what could possibly go wrong?

As I followed his large steps with my hurried one, I took in the large bungalow. Everything was lavish, grand and modern. The paintings, the art on walls, the interior, everything screamed money.

The unknown man took me inside the house and then straight to the kitchen where he pulled out a chair by the island and made me sit there. And then he started pulling out some things. He grabbed a bottle of wine, put it in front of me. Grabbing bread and peanut butter from the fridge he grabbed a plate, put butter on two slices of bread, placed one in front of me and one in front of himself.

Then grabbing two wine glasses from the cupboards he poured wine in them. And I? I just sat there, my mouth hanging open as I gaped openly at his muscles stretching with each move that he made, the swiftness he worked with, the way his skin glistened under the white glow of the kitchen light.

Placing the wine glass and plates of peanut between us, he placed his brawny elbows on the island, leaned down to come to my level, and then drawled with a sensual smile on his face,

"Now... let's have a date, adorbee."
